AB-115 Breaking Her In
(Unknown)

One

Lindsay Potter lived on a small farm in Olson County with her Persian cat,
Mouser, and a healthy set of wits. She had to have wits moving all the way
from Seattle, Washington to a small rural community in the foot hills of the
Blue Ridge Mountains.

Lindsay graduated top in her class, majoring in Art History, and she planned
to start a small studio featuring local artists, but so far the people of
Olson hadn't shown much interest in the project.

Olson was a stretch of land reaching from Southwest Virginia up and across
to the West Virginia line. It bordered Appalachian territory and the folk
there were dirt poor. The only art fancier's consisted of one, Mert Yancy
who painted cows onto slabs of wormy chestnut and a left over hippie from
New Jersey calling himself, Season, who's work was so clouded by his drug
intake even Lindsay, a liberal thinking lady, couldn't appreciate his
efforts.

The studio wasn't her only motivation for moving east to rural America.
Lindsay wanted to escape big city life and learn to get back to the land.
She read books on the subjects of gardening and caning and was successful
her first year in growing and storing enough vegetables to carry her through
two winters, but book learning and experience were two different things and
Lindsay had much to learn.

She opted to live by kerosene lanterns and use the cold fresh spring on her
property for refrigeration and in the process, Lindsay learned the
difference between book learning and practicality. The book never mentioned
vermin control as it relates to water supply and when Lindsay discovered the
carcass of that huge rodent stuffed and rotting in the overflow pipe of her
water supply she went without water for two months. The supply was there.
Lindsay simply couldn't bring herself to partake.

She lifted another log down and set it up on the chopping block. Lindsay cut
all her own firewood both for heating and cooking. She kept a sharp axe out
in the woodshed and a wedge for splitting larger logs. Lindsay looked upon
the difficult task as exercise. Her strength in wielding the axe surprised
even Samuel, Lindsay's part-time boyfriend. She was a small girl, early
twenties, with a firm well proportioned body and even Lindsay expected the
daily chores might prove more than she could handle, but after two years and
a cram course in experience, she was handling things just fine.

Lindsay learned most things the hard way. For one, she knew to make certain
no one stood behind her while she hoisted the axe to a log. Her neighbor,
Wiley Chance taught her that after she'd whacked him on the shoulder once
and left a healthy gash. After eighteen stitches to poor old Wiley's
shoulder, Lindsay was careful to look behind her whenever anyone was in the
shed with her.

She hadn't realized the dangers of snagging a log until her axe got wedged
in one then bounced it off her arm leaving a deep cut close to her wrist,
but Lindsay was learning. She had to. Her family was back in Seattle and
except for the clock work Friday night visit from Samuel for his weekly
tension release, she was on her own.

She finished up the chopping then carried a load inside. It was beginning to
get dark and this was Lindsay's bath night. She wanted to hurry and have it
over with before eight because Samuel didn't like to be kept waiting and she
wanted to have him in and out by ten.

It was a love hate relationship Lindsay carried on with Sam. He was a local
boy, a true southern born red-neck with an attitude. Samuel was a beer
drinker and a hunter. He hunted everything from quail to women and drank
everything from pure mountain shine to three dollar a gallon wine. Lindsay
tolerated Samuel, mostly out of personal need.

She scurried around the single story shack preparing for night fall. Lindsay
made it a practice to bathe every Friday evening before Samuel's visit,
using an old galvanized feed tub and stove warmed water. She took her bath
in the kitchen just like the settlers did years before. Lindsay invested in
forty acres when she came to Olson. Partly for the value, but more for the
privacy. She liked the idea of being out in the country miles away from the
nearest neighbor and away from the need to close curtains.

Back in Seattle, Lindsay couldn't get away with walking through the house
naked, at least not without some passer by whistling and howling like a
grief stricken animal. She wanted the freedom Olson County had to offer. The
freedom to live by her own rules and standards and the freedom to run around
any way she saw fit, but Lindsay didn't realize the men of Olson didn't
always take their trucks when they went out at night. Sometimes they walked
the fields and sometimes they scoured other peoples property, seeing things
they shouldn't.

The sun slowly faded behind the mountain and Lindsay gathered her bath
items. She filled the big stainless steel pot with water and fired up the
wood cook stove. It took better than an hour to heat the bath water, but
Lindsay didn't mind. Doing things the old fashioned way was important to her
and she took pride in teaching herself the tricks of rural survival.

While the water warmed she ate supper. A helping of fresh carrots from her
garden and a bowl of lightly seasoned pinto beans was the evening menu.
Lindsay sliced off a slab of wheat bread Mrs. Hanover taught her to bake,
and she smothered it with home made molasses from Henry Grants farm. She
wasn't into instant foods the way she used to , be back in Seattle. Lindsay
enjoyed simple eating the way the local folks ate. Some nights a bowl of
scalded lettuce was her only intake. Fresh garden lettuce with hot oil and
vinegar poured over it with just a touch of salt was a main dish for the
people living in and around Olson.

After supper Lindsay used a pitcher full of the warming bath water to clean
up the dishes. She washed and dried then put the utensils away until the
morning meal.

Lindsay brushed out her long dark hair spreading its natural oils throughout
then she gathered her body lotions for after the bath. The water was boiling
by the time she came into the kitchen. She filled the feed tub half full
with icy spring water then poured in the boiling hot stove water creating
just the right bath temperature.

Lindsay removed her robe and placed it over the back of her kitchen chair
and as her lovely feminine body stepped into the carefully prepared tub of
water, a man's eyes watched from outside her window.

Lindsay wasn't aware of it, but every Friday night she had two visitors.
Samuel came after bath time, but Leroy Hobbs always arrived during. He lived
on the next farm over with his father and mother, Elvin and Henrietta, and
his two older brothers, Chester and Raymond. Leroy discovered Lindsay
Potter's bath night by accident the night Chester dared him to sneak up and
peek in her window. That took place the first week Lindsay arrived in Olson
County and Leroy has been sneaking around peeking through her windows ever
since.

It wasn't uncommon for Leroy to stay and catch a glimpse of Samuel and
Lindsay's activities. He positioned himself by her bedroom window and hoped
it would be a night they decided to make love with the light on, but either
way, Leroy stayed. The sounds alone made him horny and he would pull down
his pants letting the cool night air circulate over and around his balls
while he jerked off leaving a glob of dick scum under Lindsay's window.

She lay back in the feed tub, water covering her breasts, while her legs
draped over the end and Lindsay soaked for quite awhile. She shampooed her
hair rinsing with a hand held pitcher, then she'd soap up and rinse off
slowly while Leroy watched her movements.

He was a young man, close to Lindsay's age, but Leroy seemed younger. His
brothers didn't give him much opportunity to think for himself, as Chester
and Raymond were two of Olson County's rowdiest men. They led Leroy around
by the nose threatening to tell Elvin about his peeping Tom activities if he
didn't do what they said. Leroy cooperated with his brothers. He didn't want
anything to come between his view of Lindsay Potter every Friday night.

Lindsay stood up and let the warm rinse water trickle over her soaped body
and Leroy watched with eagerness. He fantasized about making it with her,
but Leroy knew a girl like Lindsay would never have anything to do with the
likes of him. He was a red neck like Samuel, but Leroy was homely. His
scared face and long goose neck made him appear deformed. He never dated and
never experienced a woman. The closest he'd come to it was watching Lindsay,
but Leroy knew she'd never allow him to watch if she found out. He was
always extra careful around Lindsay's windows. Careful to remain unnoticed.

When the knock came on the door, Lindsay hollered for Samuel to come inside.
He arrived earlier and earlier every week and Lindsay planned to speak to
him about it this time.

"I'm in the kitchen." she shouted, and Samuel came in.

"Ain't you done yet?" he said.

"No."

"Got a beer?"

"In the spring." she said.

"When the hell you gon git a damn ice box the way everyone else's got,
Lindsay?" Samuel snapped, not wanting to make the walk outside to the spring
house.

"Sam, you know that's where I keep them. I don't know why you don't just
fetch one before you come inside?" she said, standing up to towel off.

"Fuck it!" Samuel snapped again.

"Fine, do without." Lindsay snapped right back. She wasn't the sort to take
lip from a man. If Samuel was hateful, Lindsay could be just as hateful. She
never allowed a man to push her around or treat her badly. Samuel tried on
occasion to rule Lindsay, but he learned quickly that to get in her pants he
had to stay out of her hair.

"Hey, momma, don't bother with that none." Samuel said with a sexy grin. He
walked over and took the silky nightie from her hand and told her to just
keep it uncovered because he wouldn't have time to fool with taking it off.

"I'm ready now, baby." Samuel said, pressing his hard cock bulge to her bare
thigh. Leroy watched from the window as the two lovers kissed. His own dick
was swelling fast and he hoped they might do it right there in the kitchen
where the light was good.

"I want to ask you not to come by before eight, Sam. I'd like to get my bath
over with before you get here."

"Darlin', it don't matter ta me if ya keep me waitin' a tad. You gotta
understand, Lindsay, seein' you's the best part ah my week."

"Yes, well, don't come before eight or the next time I won't let you in."

"What the hell do ya mean ya won't let me in, what's that mean?" Samuel
asked with a shout, pushing himself away from Lindsay.

"Hey, if you don't like it you can get out now, Samuel!" Lindsay snapped
right back. "I can always find another man willing to get here when I tell
him, you know. I don't have to hear any crap from you if I don't want to. If
you come before eight next week just turn your sorry ass around and leave
because I won't let you in, that's what I mean."

Samuel didn't say a word. He just pulled out a kitchen chair and plopped
down in it facing the back keeping his legs straddled around the seat.

"I'll tell you what, darlin', if you think you can git someone's better in
the sack then me, you go right ahead, but I'm tellin' ya right now, there
ain't a man in this whole fucking county with a cock's big's mine." Sam
smirked.

"It's almost as big as your mouth, isn't it, Samuel?" she said
sarcastically.

"No, it's bigger than my mouth, which ain't saying much about your mouth
now, is it, Lindsay honey. That hole uh yours can just about swallow this
prick ah mine, so who's got the big mouth now?" Samuel said.

Lindsay grinned at him. Samuel's lips were tightly pursed and his face
appeared flush. She began to giggle and the louder it got the more bent out
of shape Samuel became.

"What's sah dern funny, woman?" he asked sharply.

"We are, Sam." she said. "Why we go through these spats every Friday night
is beyond me. We wind up screwing each others brains out anyway so why the
arguing?"

"Come over here, woman." Samuel said, holding out his arms. Lindsay came
around and sat on his lap. They kissed passionately while Leroy felt the
sensation of frustration creeping up his spine. Another potential break came
and went as Lindsay and Samuel started what they got together for and

Leroy felt cheated out of a chance to become Lindsay's regular Friday night
lover. They always fought giving him hope, but they always managed to make
up just in time for sex.

"Sit up on this table, Lindsay. Let me have a look at you." Samuel said.

"What do you need a look for?" she asked laughing.

"Come on, baby, just a look. Go on, climb up here for me. I just want ta see
them rosy lips up close." Samuel said, sweetly. Lindsay never could resist
Samuel when he turned on the charm. His eyes looked like a sad teddy bear's
when he begged and she always gave in.

Lindsay sat up on the kitchen table with her legs apart and he nestled his
face between them and took a close up look at her pussy lips. The sweet
smell of her after bath perfume permeated his nostril and before Lindsay
could object he had his tongue slipping into her pussy slit.

"Mmmmmmm." Samuel moaned as he licked her hole. Lindsay dropped her knees
further letting him have his way. Samuel wasn't the classiest man in Olson,
but he sure had one long tongue. Lindsay needed him once a week. She craved
the way he made love to her. Samuel had lasting power unlike any man she'd
ever had before and Lindsay wanted every inch he had to offer. His rock hard
cock grew to a full ten throbbing inches and she took every inch.

"Suck it, Sam." Lindsay moaned. Samuel let his lips lock over her clit then
he gently sucked up and down on it until Lindsay was swaying. He could turn
her on faster than a faucet spills water and before he knew it she was
begging for more.

"Give it to me, Samuel." she said.

Leroy quickly pulled down his pants and got ready. As Samuel pulled off his
clothes, Leroy jerked his meat up stiff and when Samuel penetrated Lindsay's
cunt Leroy swore he could feel it too. He watched as Samuel pulled Lindsay's
hips closer to the table edge and rammed his length into her. Lindsay was
eager to take it. She held onto Samuel's shoulders while he pounded and
thrust his cock inside. She was getting what she wanted from Samuel and when
that was happening nothing else about him seemed to matter.

Leroy jerked his cock up and back; up and back. With every stroke Samuel
made, Leroy matched it. The young man fantasized being inside Lindsay's
pussy. He could feel her silky wetness enveloping his dick and Leroy lost
control. He shot off against the side of Lindsay's house leaving a messy
stream of sticky cum then he watched as Samuel did the same leaving his
stream inside Lindsay.

"Yes, do it, Sam." Lindsay moaned as he shot the wad. "Give it to me good."

"God damn, woman, you can steal it from me faster'n any broad I ever
fucked." Samuel said. "I love fucking you." he added.

"You're the best, Sam." she said with a grin.

Leroy watched. He saw Lindsay step back into the tub and wash Samuel's cum
off her legs then she got out and toweled off again. When she got back up on
the table, Leroy watched as Samuel slipped between her legs again and began
sucking her to climax.

She writhed on his face as he brought her off and as Lindsay felt her body
tighten, Leroy felt his heart soar. More than anything he wanted to bring
Lindsay off. He wanted to feel his face pressed to her warm inviting pussy
slit and feel the steamy moist lips of her cunt brushing against his mouth.

"Umma gon git me a beer now." Samuel said, jumping up from the chair right
after Lindsay finished.

"Samuel?" she shouted. How could he be such a sweet lover one minute and an
oaf the next, she thought.

"I'll be right back, momma." he said.

"Get two, why don't you." she shouted as Samuel was closing the front door.

Lindsay got off the table and began clearing her bath items. She knew Samuel
would be ready for a second go around once he drank a beer and she wanted to
be ready. She used the hose to drain the tub by placing one end in the water
then sucking at the other end until the water began flowing, then she picked
up her lotion and smoothed a handful over her thighs.

This was Leroy's favorite part of Lindsay's bath routine and he didn't want
to miss it, but with Samuel coming around the side of the house toward the
spring he had to. Leroy attempted to ducked behind the bush next to
Lindsay's shed, but he stumbled over a stump and fell to the ground with a
thud.

Samuel heard the noise. He stopped in his tracks then looked around
carefully. When Samuel noticed Leroy he ran for the young man and was able
to catch him by the leg as Leroy tried to scramble away.

"What the fuck you doin' out here, boy?" Samuel shouted. Lindsay heard the
commotion and ran to the window. She saw Samuel holding Leroy by the ankle
and shouted out asking what was going on.

"Got me a peeper, baby. This sorry sonuva bitch was looking in the window."

"What?" Lindsay said. She was amazed. The forty acres surrounding her house
didn't lend itself to foot traffic so whoever it was had to have gone out of
his way.

"Who is he?" she shouted.

"What's your name, boy?" Samuel demanded.

"Let me go, I ain't done nothin'. I was just passin' through, that's all. I
ain't seen nothin'. "

"Who are ya?" Samuel insisted.

"Names Leroy." he said with fear. "Leroy Hobbs. I just live over that knob
over there. I was just takin' a short cut through when you come out and seen
me."

Samuel shouted toward the window telling Lindsay who it was, but she didn't
know the boy. Lindsay didn't want Samuel to hurt him though. She told Sam to
let the kid go.

"Lindsay, the creep is peepin' in ya window, fah God sake. I cain't just let
him go free."

"Samuel, I said let him go. He just a boy and besides, he hasn't hurt
anything."

"You want him peepin' at you when ya take a bath, Lindsay?" Samuel asked,
still holding Leroy's ankle. Lindsay wasn't at the window to answer. She had
thrown on her robe and come around back to see who it was Samuel was
holding.

"What's your name?" she asked Leroy.

"Leroy Hobbs, ma'am, I ain't done nothin'. "

"Let him go, Sam." she said.

"Lindsay?"

"I said, let him go." she insisted. "I don't appreciate you looking in my
windows Leroy." she said. "If we let you go will you promise never to do it
again?"

"I won't no more, ma'am, I promise."

"Fine, now you get on home, Leroy, and don't let me catch you back here
again." Lindsay said with a smile. She thought the whole thing was cute, but
Samuel didn't share her attitude. He wanted to break Leroy's head open.

"How can you just let him go on thata way, Lindsay?" Samuel asked as they
started back toward the house.

"Oh, he didn't hurt anything, Sam. What's the big deal?"

"You tellin' me it don't bother you ta have some man watching you through
the window, Lindsay. Are you sayin' it don't matter to ya if some strange
man see's your naked ass?"

"What harm did he do, Samuel? That's all I'm saying. He's just a boy."

"Well, if that's the sort ah woman you is then maybe I'm wastin' my time
comin' around here."

"What do you mean wasting your time, Samuel?" Lindsay asked with curiosity.
He wasn't making sense.

"I uz fixin' ta ask ya ta be my wife, Lindsay, but I cain't very well do
that if you let strange men watch yer bare ass. Shit, I don't want no broad
who ain't got enough class than ta show it all ta some peeper."

"Don't flatter yourself, Samuel. For a fuck, you'll do, but for a husband,
well, let's just say I'd have to be beyond desperate."

It was like Henrietta Hobbs to object. She never agreed with Elvin on
anything where the boys were concerned. Henrietta was of the opinion they
could do no wrong and whenever Elvin tried to call them down she'd step in
and go to bat for them.

The Hobbs boys were rowdy, but Henrietta chalked their actions up to
"spunk", saying, "all boys act the way they act, it's nothing to get upset
over", but Elvin knew better. Chester, Raymond and Leroy went beyond rowdy.
They went all the way to violent.

"I'm tellin' ya, Henrietta, we can't let them boys carry on no more. If they
ain't careful the sheriff will be out here again and they'll get locked up
for sure."

"You listen to me, Elvin Hobbs." she shouted waving a wooden spoon at the
man. "Chester ain't done nothin' wrong. My boys wouldn't do such a thing. I
brought them up better than ta steal a man's cattle, now I ain't wantin' ta
hear another word about it."

Elvin didn't say another word. There wasn't any point. Henrietta wouldn't
accept the fact that her three sons were the worst boys in all of Olson
County. She couldn't stand the notion that her mothering techniques had
produced three violent drunken misfits.

Elvin stormed out the back door to go milk before supper. He didn't want
anymore arguing with his wife. He never won anyway, what was the point in
trying. Henrietta Hobbs had final say on everything and to attempt to change
her mind would be as successful as milking a bull.

Elvin was convinced his boys were up to no good. Chester shot off his mouth
after breakfast that morning about killing old man Grant's prime milk cow,
but Henrietta never heard what was said. The boys kept their behaviors quiet
around their mother. They only spilled the sad truths to Elvin knowing he
couldn't do a thing about it. If Elvin went against Henrietta where the boys
were concerned he'd find himself a single man again with no wife around to
fix the meals or wash the clothes and as badly as Elvin wanted to turn his
son's into the sheriff, he didn't.

Elvin was a hard working dairy farmer. His reputation in the county was good
even though his son's were disliked. Most of the folk felt sorry for Elvin.
They knew Henrietta. It was no secret how obnoxious she could be, but the
folk didn't blame Elvin. They saw him as a man who took his wedding vows to
heart and stuck it out through better and worse. They knew from day one that
Elvin and Henrietta's marriage was worse than Elvin imagined it would be.

They hadn't been together one week before she was demanding he buy her a
house and Elvin worked the dairy farm his father left him when he died plus
took a paying job at the factory to get it for her. It took the man twenty
five years to pay for it, but Henrietta insisted she have a place of her own
or else.

She was the sort of woman who took charge of a man's life. She made all
decisions, enforced all rules, and dictated all policies in their family.
Poor old Elvin tried to establish himself as head of the family, but
Henrietta wouldn't hear of it. She chopped him down to size more than once,
embarrassing and humiliating him over and over again until Elvin just gave
up. He'd have left her if it hadn't been for his belief that all marriages,
good or bad, were for keeps.

Shortly after Leroy was born, Henrietta declared she was through having
children. Elvin didn't mind that so much, but when Henrietta forced Elvin to
move out of their bedroom as their method of birth control, he didn't like
it very much. He went, of course, but not without a great deal of screaming.
That was over twenty three years ago. Elvin hasn't made love to his wife
since that night. She tossed him out and he figured that was part of the
reason she'd grown so hateful.

After filling the pail full, Elvin carried it to the house and covered it to
separate. He skimmed the cream off for Henrietta to make butter. She churned
everyday. It was something she enjoyed doing and it always seemed to put her
in a friendly mood.

When Elvin came inside the kitchen she was busy setting the supper table.
Elvin asked where the boys were, but Henrietta didn't answer. Right away,
Elvin knew. They were down at the Crossroads Bar getting liquored up. That's
the same place they had gone for the past four years.

"Well, I hope you're not keeping supper for them, Henrietta." Elvin said
angrily.

"I always keep supper for my boys." she snapped. "They have to eat."

"Then they oughta be home at supper time. Why should you keep supper for a
bunch of no count drunks?"

Henrietta swung around and glared at her husband. Her large dark eyes
squinted and her lip snarled.

"Don't you never call my boys drunks, Elvin Hobbs." she said. "They is fine
boys. I won't have you speakin' bout them like they is trash."

"Answer me just one thing, Henrietta." Elvin snapped. "Just what are you gon
do when the sheriff comes to arrest them fine boys for stealing old man
Grant's cattle and killin' his prime cow?"

"My boys would never do such a thing, Elvin Hobbs, and if you can't speak of
them any better, then maybe you oughta git the hell out!"

* * *

The Crossroads was a rough bar set back at the edge of Poplar Gap Forest off
old route four-ten. Only the worst element frequented that place and Chester
and his brothers were regulars. The women who came into the Crossroads came
with reputations and Chester knew all of them. He was the oldest Hobbs boy.
Tall, lanky and always wearing a cowboy hat one size too small. His filthy
mouth and disgusting manner were his trade mark, but at the Crossroads he
blended in with the rest of the men.

Red necks like Chester and his brothers all behaved the same. They drank to
excess, which in itself created problems, but more than the drinking was the
way they carried on. Their attitudes spoke clearly through their actions.
They treated all women with disrespect and groped at them whenever the urge
struck. Chester grabbed a lady's pussy one night and when she jumped up and
slapped his face he balled up a fist and decked her. Chester said, "I ain't
takin' no crap offa no woman", as he decked her and the rest of the men in
the bar were on his side. They either agreed or they simply pretended to
agree because Chester didn't take no crap offa no man either.

Millie Simpson was a Crossroads regular. She was married to Hanley Simpson,
but he tossed her out after finding her in the sack with Vin Martin, the
local insurance salesman. Millie's affair with Vin cooled off after Hanley
gave her the boot and since then she'd become a bar fly at the Crossroads,
teasing and flirting with the men. Millie likes to tease the men. Her skimpy
tops and flashes of thigh kept the men around, but she stopped short when it
came to action. Millie held the notion the boys at the Crossroads weren't
good enough and some of them took offense.

Millie took her usual stool at the end of the bar and Chester noticed how
she spread wide flashing pantie as she sat. He went over to talk with her,
but Chester Hobbs was one man Millie never flirted with. She hated all the
Hobbs boys and made it a point to steer clear of them.

"I ain't seen you in here for a few days, Millie honey. Where you been
keeping yourself?" he asked.

"It ain't none of your business, Chester Hobbs." she said sharply.

"Awh, come on now, Millie, I ain't as bad as all that." Chester grinned
touching his hand to hers. Millie jerked away and turned her back to him.
She was there the night he decked Mary Sue and wanted no part of the man.

"Crhon, sugar, why me and Raymond was just sayin' when you come in what a
beauty you is. Jus liveen me and you, Millie, I think yer the sexiest lady
this side a Prince William County." Chester said, with a whisper.

Millie grinned.

"Now, see there, sugar. You can git a smile up for Chester." He toyed with
Millie hoping she might respond so he could make arrangements for later.
Chester had every woman in the Crossroads at least once and it was Millie's
turn now. He planned to fuck Millie until she couldn't look at another man.

"I ain't neither." she said

"Darlin', you is the prettiest thing around. I'll tell ya what, sugar. I'm
prepared ta make a deal with ya." Chester got close to Millie and whispered
in her ear. His hands made their way to her lap and when she heard what the
man had to say, Millie looked at Chester with a smirk and answered.

"Well, I'll tell ya what, Chester Hobbs." she said. "If ever the bomb comes
ta Olson and we all find ourselves bout ta die from some kind of atomic
poisoning and we have just enough time ta make out once more before it's all
over with, I'd fuck a damn nigger fore I'd let you lay one filthy paw on me.
In other words, Chester, you ain't got one thing on your whole entire body
tha'd be uh interest ta me, so why don't ya take your butt back over yonder
and leave me alone."

Chester glared at Millie then stood up yanking his hand from her lap.

"Know what yer problem is, Millie." he said, pointing a finger to her face.
"Yer problem's ya ain't had no good cock. Too bad too, cause you jus give up
yer last hope ah gettin' the best they is." he said.

"My loss, I'm sure, Chester, but I'll jus hafta live with it." Millie said.

Chester went back to the table with his brothers and slammed a fist to it
making their beers rattle against the top. He was steamed. It wasn't a good
idea to piss off Chester Hobbs, but Millie didn't give one damn about him.
She wanted nothing to do with those Hobbs boys.

"What's a matta, Chet?" Raymond asked.

"Zat bitch, Millie. I got haff a mind ta fuck that bitch up the ass." he
snarled.

"Millie turns em all down, Chet, hell wither."

"Nobody turns down Chester Hobbs, you got that!" he snarled again. "That
cunt's gon be sorry she's ever born. We's gon git her good, Raymond. We's
gon teach that bitch a lesson."

"Whad'ya have in mind, Chet?" Raymond asked with a grin. He did what Chester
told him to do. Both brothers did. Whatever Chester cooked up they went
along with.

"I'm gon git that cunt out back ah them woods tonight en I'm gon give er
somethin' she won't soon feet."

"Well, all right!" Raymond smiled. "What bout me, Chet, can I git a little
too?"

"We's all gon git it, Raymond, even Leroy here."

"I ain't wantin' none." Leroy spoke up quickly. He wasn't interested in any
woman but Lindsay Potter. Leroy was saving himself for her.

"Shoot boy, a little a that cunt en you be a new man. Millie's puss'll think
its done died and gon up ta heaven once we finish with her."

It was close to eleven before Millie came out of the bar. Chester, Raymond
and Leroy had left around ten and waited for her around back by the parking
lot. They kept back in the woods out of sight and waited for Millie to get
to her car.

Leroy wasn't against the idea anymore. Chester talked him into it by telling
him there was nothing quite as exciting as taking a woman against her will
and Leroy wanted a chance to find out for himself. He figured screwing
Lindsay was out of the question and letting this opportunity go by would be
a foolish thing to do.

Millie opened her car door and was about to get inside when Chester and
Raymond grabbed her from behind. Chester covered her mouth while Raymond
grabbed her feet and they pulled her away from her car then back up into the
woods. Poplar Gap Forest was the rear section of the National Forest in
Olson. Its dense woods went on for miles and once they dragged Millie back
in it would be impossible for her voice to be heard if she screamed out.

Leroy took up the rear as the two men hauled Millie further into the thick
woods. When they got to a small clearing, Raymond put down her feet then
pulled a strip of cloth off the bottom of his dirty shirt to tie her mouth,
but Chester butted in.

"Leave it go, Raymond. If she hollers out I'll kill her ass dead and she
knows it, don't ya sugar?"

"You had best let me go, Chester Hobbs." Millie shouted with anger, but that
was unlikely. The Hobbs boys were the sort of men to follow through. Once
they had a plan, they carried it out and no matter how much Millie pleaded
she was sure to be their next victim.

"Like hell I will, cunt. You and me's got us a date, sugar."

Chester unzipped his pants and pulled them off. His cockmeat hung long over
his balls. The semi-hard shaft was a thick as a deli sausage and its large
protruding veins disappearing under the rim of his dick looked like ridges
on the back of a lizard. He meant to force Millie Simpson to give up her
pussy and Chester was to go first.

"Strap the bitches ankles Raymond and tie them apart to them trees." he said
instructing his brother to use the rags from his shirt.

"I want me a clear shot at this cunt. Get them panties off and take off that
top she's always flashing tit out of. I aim ta git me a taste of it all." he
added. Chester fondled his cockmeat forcing the blood to rush in and swell
it hard. Millie didn't dare scream. She knew Chester would hurt her if she
did. Millie figured to play along and let them have their way then go home
and shower off the stench.

Her legs were secured and Chester mounted her first. His swollen dick
centered to her slit then slammed inside forcing Millie to moan in pain.
Chester's dick was bigger than any she'd had before and it tugged and pulled
against the dry walls of her cunt. He forced it deep and Millie began to
whimper tears.

"You're hurtin' me." she said, but Chester laughed.

"Hurtin' ya? Hurtin' ya, why you fucking cunt, you don't know diddly squat
bout hurt." he said, ramming his length deeper. Raymond and Leroy watched as
their older brother forced his dick up Millie's pussy and they both
undressed preparing for their turn.

"Can't ya jus slow down a minute, Chester and let me get a little wet?"
Millie said, but Chester punched her in the face and pumped harder. Raymond
was laughing at the whole thing, but Leroy felt strange about it. He
couldn't understand why Chester had to hit the woman. She was cooperating.
She wasn't trying to get away. Leroy's cock began to shrivel up as he
watched his brothers work the woman over.

Raymond came around to Millie's face and forced his dick into her mouth. She
tried to turn away, but Raymond slapped her and made her take it. His dirty
cock sunk into her mouth until Millie began to gag on it, but Raymond didn't
pull back. He jammed his dick so deep into her mouth she began squirming for
air.

"Fuck the bitch good." Chester shouted. His balls were slapping against the
cheeks of Millie's ass and Raymond was forcing his dick deeper until Millie
couldn't stand another minute. She began to fight vigorously, pounding her
fists to Chester's back and bouncing up and down trying to get away. Leroy
told his brothers she looked like she was suffering, but Chester just said,
good.

"This fuckin' cunt's gon learn Chester Hobbs don't take no crap." he said.
His ass continued slamming toward Millie's body and just as he was about to
finish, she went limp. Chester pulled out before he shot off then told
Raymond to stop, but Millie didn't respond. She just lay still.

"What the fuck's matter with er?" Raymond asked.

"Shit if I know. Get her over, Raymond. I'm gon fuck her up the ass."

Raymond untied and flipped Millie over and still she didn't move. Chester
pulled at her until she was doubled over. He spread her ass cheeks apart and
poked his hard cock to the opening.

"Come round here and watch this, Raymond." Chester said. He forced the full
length of his cock up inside Millie's ass while Raymond looked on, but Leroy
didn't want to see anymore. There was something wrong with Millie and he was
afraid.

"I'm goin'. " Leroy spoke up.

"You ain't had a turn yet, boy, what the hell ya mean leavin' fore ya had
some pussy?"

"She ain't movin', Chester. Somethin's wrong with er."

"The fuck they is." Chester laughed. "Millie's just likin' it, that's all.
Get over here and fuck this cunt, boy."

"No, I'm gon go on, Chet. You and Raymond can have it." Leroy ran away
before Chester could say another word and when Raymond lit out after him,
Chester called him back.

"Let him be, Raymond, he ain't never fucked a cunt no way. The little shit's
jus scared. Come over here and take some ah this pussy."

Chester got off Millie and let his brother fuck her awhile. She still didn't
respond, but Raymond didn't let that stop his fun. He humped his cock in and
out of Millie's cunt so fast his ass was a blur and Chester cheered his
brother on to the finish line then mounted Millie's ass again and released
his load.

"That'll teach the bitch ta turn me down." Chester said, shaking the come
off his cockhead.

"You bet it will, Chet, she ain't never gon turn us down no more."

"Git them panties over here, Raymond. Miss Millie will be wantin' ta get
dressed now." he said.

Raymond did what he was told, but when he tossed the lacy yellow underpants
at Millie she didn't move.

"You reckon they is something wrong with the bitch?" Raymond asked.

"Don't know." Chester said. He bent over and listened. Millie was alive, he
could hear her breathing.

"I reckon she done passed out's all. Come on, she'll be all right. Hell, she
prob'ly jus got so worked up over havin' a good fuck for the first time in
er life she fainted dead away." Chester joked.

"Reckon we oughta bring er back ta the car?" Raymond asked.

"Fuck er. Leave er here. She ain't deservin' no free trip back. Let the cunt
find er own way back."

Chester and Raymond headed home leaving Millie in the woods. She didn't move
a muscle after they left. Millie wasn't able. Raymond had crushed her wind
pipe with the force of his cock slamming against it and she passed out from
the pain. The men left her for dead and went oh home.

* * *

"Where's your brothers, Leroy?" Elvin asked, seeing the boy come in. "They's
out, daddy."

"I know they's out, Leroy, I ask ya where."

"I cain't say."

"You was with them tonight, why cain't ya say."

"I jus cain't, daddy."

"When they comin' home?"

"I don't know, daddy." Leroy said. He didn't want Elvin to know where the
boys were or what they had done. Elvin didn't need to know. He never knew
about the rest of their victims. Raping women was something Chester and
Raymond did all the time. This was the first time they let Leroy come along,
but he knew what his brothers did out behind the Crossroads. They bragged on
it all the time. They'd drag some bar fly out there to the clearing and fuck
her until she couldn't take anymore. Leroy didn't know the women usually got
up and walked back to the car after the fucking though. He figured they all
stayed passed out in the woods until morning, just the way Millie seemed to
be doing.

"Them brothers of yours better not be up to no good." Elvin said, sharply.
"I ain't gon have no sheriff comin' over here and makin' no scene."

"They's gon be along soon, daddy. They's jus down at the bar closin' up."
Leroy said, hoping Elvin would accept that and let him go on to bed.

"Crossroads is been closed up for near an hour now, Leroy. Where'd they go
after it locked up?"

"I don't know, daddy, jus out somewhere's. They's gon be along shortly."

"Fine, go on ta bed, Leroy, but if I find out you's been stealing Grant's
cattle agin, I'll beat the livin' shit out of ya, I don't care what your
momma says." Elvin said, shaking a finger at Leroy.

"They ain't stealin' no cows, daddy. That much I do know."

Three

"Jus 'xactly how much do ya know, Leroy?" Elvin demanded. He was tired of
the same worn out stories from his boys. Tonight he planned to get the whole
story even if it meant hitting Leroy.

"I ain't hidin' nothin', daddy, I swear. Chester and Raymond will be along
shortly. They's jus takin' the long way round's all."

"Come over here, boy!" Elvin shouted. He grabbed Leroy by the shirt collar
then jerked him around. Elvin knew his sons were up to no good and he knew
he could get it out of Leroy.

"Now, jus spill it, boy. Where's them two at?"

"Daddy, yer hurtin' me." Leroy said, twisting to break free, but Elvin held
tight. He wasn't about to give up. He aimed to put a stop to his sons wrong
doing before it got out of hand even more.

"You bess speak up, boy. I'll bust yer ass iffin ya don't start talkin'. "

"I don't know nothin', daddy, not a thing."

Elvin hauled off and slapped his son in the face then threw him toward the
book case and Leroy yelled out. When Henrietta heard the noise and came into
the room and saw what was going on and began shouting at her husband.

"What in hell's goin' on in here?" she demanded, but Elvin told her to go
back to bed.

"I'll do no such a thing, Elvin Hobbs, git yer hands off my baby boy." she
said, coming at Elvin. He grabbed his wife then swung her around until she
fell to the floor. Elvin's eyes glassed over with anger and Henrietta kept
her jaw shut while he spoke.

"I kep my mouth shut the past twenty five year, but I ain't keepin' quiet no
more, Henrietta. Them boys is up ta no good en I aim ta find out from Leroy
jus what it is they do this late of the night. You jus go on and git yer ass
back in the bed and let me handle this situation. This ain't pertainin' ta
you no way. Is's tween me en Leroy."

"I don't want ya hittin' my boy, Elvin." Henrietta dared to say. Elvin
glared at his wife. Even on the floor with her safety being threatened she
didn't have the good sense to shut her mouth. Elvin slapped the woman then
ordered her out of the room. Henrietta went. She went faster than Elvin had
ever seen her move.

"Now, Imma askin' ya agin, Leroy, where's them brothers ah yers?"

"I swear, I ain't got no idea, daddy. Why ya askin' me anyway. I ain't my
brothers keeper er nothin'. " Leroy snapped.

Elvin pulled off his leather belt and hit Leroy with it striking the boys
arm with the metal buckle and leaving a whelp the size of a cucumber then he
asked again.

"Where's they at?" Elvin shouted.

"Daddy, don't do this ta me. Y'ain't got no right ta do this." Leroy said.
Elvin whacked him again.

"I ain't tellin' a dern thing!" Leroy shouted.

"I'll beat it out yer hide, boy. I aim ta know where they's at." Elvin
whipped the boys shoulders, back and legs with his leather belt, but Leroy
didn't give in. He kept the secret of Chester and Raymond's deed and when
they finally came home, they caught Elvin smacking Leroy.

"Hey, old man, what in hell ya think yer doin'? " Chester shouted, grabbing
the belt from Elvin's hand.

"Where you boys been and what trouble'd ya git into this evenin'? " Elvin
asked.

"We ain't in no trouble, old man, hell, we had us a couple beers down at the
Crossroad's all, ain't nothin' wrong with that."

"Ya'U had better stay away from Grant's stock, boy. He's gon press charges
the next time ya mess with em." Elvin said.

"Go on ta bed, old man, hell, ya's talkin' out yer ass." Chester said
disrespectfully. He tossed his fathers leather belt at him and Elvin caught
it.

"Go on, ya heard me, git yer ass in the bed." Elvin did, and as he left the
room Chester and Raymond began laughing.

They were drunk from the beer and the excitement in having taught Millie
Simpson a lesson. They stayed in the living room laughing and acting rowdy
and Elvin could hear them and was angry. He wanted them to get out. Just
take their lousy attitude and their lazy asses out of his house, but
Henrietta had other ideas. She was planning to have the boys put him out
first thing in the morning.

* * *

When Elvin woke he found Chester and Raymond on the living room floor and
Leroy was stretched out across the sofa. Henrietta was in the kitchen fixing
breakfast as if everything was normal. He shouted at the woman wanting to
know how she could pretend the boys were decent, but Henrietta glared at him
and warned him to stay away from her.

"You done hit me fer the last time, Elvin Hobbs." she snarled.

"Last time, hell, that is the first time I ever set hand on ya, woman."

"And the last, Elvin. I want ya outta my house." she barked.

"Come agin, woman?" Elvin questioned. She couldn't be serious. Where would
he go? What would he do without his home?

"Chester! Raymond! Leroy!" she hollered, and the three came running.

"Whassa matta, maw?" Chester asked, rushing into the kitchen.

"Git this man outta my home." she ordered.

"Who, daddy?" Chester laughed.

"He ain't yer daddy no way, Chester. He ain't none you boys daddy. I jus
said it ta keep the family together. Elvin Hobbs ain't the father ah my boys
now ner never. You's fathered by Jake Sterlin'. " Henrietta said.

"Ya mean, Uncle Jake?" Chester asked with a grunt.

"That's right, your Uncle Jake is yer daddy, not this scum. Git him outta
here afore I vomit et the sight of im."

Chester started toward his father and Elvin started to back away, but when
the two oldest boys cornered him they were able to pick Elvin up and carry
him out back.

"Yer momma's jus angry, boys. She ain't meanin' it no way. She ain't never
done nothin' with yer Uncle Jake, tell em, Henrietta, tell them boys you was
jus jokin'. " Elvin shouted, but Henrietta just laughed. She wasn't joking.
Uncle Jake, Elvin's half brother, was the father of her boys and Henrietta
was proud of it. She told Elvin to leave the property and that she'd see him
in court.

Elvin begged her to be reasonable but when he spoke long enough she had the
boys run him off with a shot gun. Elvin left. He left his home and his truck
and walked off into the woods. Henrietta planned to keep it that way. She'd
wanted an excuse to toss Elvin out years ago but he never gave her any
reason. Now she could tell everyone he beat her and Henrietta couldn't have
been more pleased.

* * *

Elvin roamed the woods in confusion. He had no place to go and no way to get
there. He walked the back section close to Lindsay's place, but Elvin didn't
cut through her property. He didn't like it when folks cut through his.

Elvin decided the best thing to do was make his way out to his brothers
place and ask if he might bed down until he was able to find a place of his
own. He started toward the Crossroads bar through Poplar Gap Forest and when
he got half way through he spotted Millie Simpson in the clearing.

At first, Elvin didn't want to disturb the woman for fear she wasn't alone,
but when he coughed and she didn't move he came closer.

Elvin stood over Millie and looked. She was naked from the waist down with a
pair of panties laying over her body. He could see she had been raped. There
were dried globs of male semen on her body and she had the finger marks of a
mans hand on her face in black and blue.

"Dear Lord." Elvin said, as he bent over to check for a pulse. She was blue
but Elvin thought he was able to detect a slight pulse. He rushed toward the
Crossroads bar to use the telephone to get help, but the place was locked
up. Elvin ran across the road to the farm house down the road and used the
telephone. He was frantic when he called and the sheriff told him to calm
down and meet him back at the bar.

When Sheriff Hancock arrived, Elvin had settled down some. He was sitting on
the tire stop in front of the bar and when the sheriff asked him where the
woman was, Elvin took him around back. The two men walked back into the
woods and when they came to Millie's body, Sheriff Hancock said he knew her.

"Millie Simpson, Hanley's ex." he commented.

"Has she been raped?" Elvin asked, looking at the girls nude body smeared
with semen.

"Appears she has, Elvin." Sheriff Hancock said. He tried to locate a pulse
but was unable. He asked Elvin where he'd felt for one and Elvin told him
the neck, just as the sheriff was doing.

"Well, she ain't got one now." he said.

"She ain't dead, sheriff?" Elvin questioned with horror. He bent over and
felt for himself, but Elvin couldn't find a pulse anymore either. Millie was
gone and it made Elvin ill.

"When'd ya say ya found her?" Sheriff asked.

"Right before I telephoned yer office, sheriff."

"Well, she ain't been alive for awhile, Elvin. You musta jus thought ya felt
a pulse. This woman's been gone near five hours now. I bess git the coroner
down here." he added.

"That poor young thing." Elvin said, taking one last look at her before
leaving with sheriff Hancock. The deputy stayed behind and kept an eye on
the body while the sheriff and Elvin went back to the cruiser.

"It's a good thing ya done, Elvin, thanks, but we'll take it from here on.
Ya bess git back to yer place now. Don't let it git to ya, Elvin. It's jus
one ah them things." Sheriff Hancock said. He could easily see Elvin was
shaken.

Elvin went on to his brothers place and told him all about the girl in the
woods and how Henrietta tossed him out. Arlin said Elvin could stay as long
as he needed and he drove him back to his place to get some clothes. When
Elvin got out and started toward the house he heard Chester and Raymond
laughing in the woodshed. Elvin crept quietly up to the window and had a
listen.

"hell, who cares, Raymond. That bitch deserves what she got. Ain't no cunt
gon turn down, Chester Hobbs en git away with it." Chester said.

"I was afraid the cunt might bite my dick off but I fixed her good, didn't
I, Chet?"

"Ya sure did, Raymond."

"Ya reckon she's made it home all right?" Raymond asked.

"Sure." Chester answered. "We'n check on her after awhile. Hell, if she's
still out there in that clearin' maybe we'll git us another fuck or two."

Elvin couldn't believe his ears. Chester and Raymond were talking about
Millie Simpson, it had to be. They raped her and left her for dead. Elvin
had a feeling they were up to no good, but this was more than he imagined.
He knew they were bad blood, but even Elvin didn't want to admit how bad. He
listened in again and heard the boys talking about attacking a young girl
after Sunday church meeting in the morning.

"Rosie's jus the sort ah cunt I'm up fer, Chester." Raymond said, with a
laugh. "Hell, I been wantin' ta git in that little girls pants since her
daddy called me down that day at Sunday sermon. How we gon do it, Chet?"

"Know them grow'd up bushes next ta the back door?" Chester asked.

"By the out house?" Raymond asked.

"Yeah, thems the ones, well, I figure we'll git Rosie out the back then tote
her off jus the way we done Millie. Yer gon hafta close Rosie's mouth up
though, Raymond, cause them thickets ain't like Poplar Gap."

"I'll bring me this." Raymond said, pulling out his red and black hanky.

Elvin was stunned by what he'd heard. He couldn't believe his sons were
planning to rape yet another girl. He dashed off back to his brothers truck
and told Arlin to go on.

"But, what about yer clothes?" Arlin asked.

"Never mind them now, Arlin, I'll pick em up some other time. Right now ya
need ta take me into town."

"What fer?" Arlin asked curiously.

"Never you mind, Arlin, just git goin'. "

* * *

Arlin pulled up in front of Harmon's Feed and

Seed and let Elvin out. Elvin told him to go on over to the drug store and
pick him up a tooth brush while he went to take care of an errand and Arlin
did what his brother said.

Elvin waited until Arlin rode away before ducking inside the sheriff s
office next to Harmon's. When Arlin's truck was out of sight, Elvin ran
inside and told the deputy on duty he had to speak with Sheriff Hancock.

"I'll tell 'im you're here." the deputy said, asking Elvin to have a seat,
but Elvin didn't wait. He ran behind the desk and followed the deputy to
Hancock's office.

"Elvin, what can I do for ya?" Sheriff Hancock asked.

"I gotta talk with ya, Harless. Can I shut this door back here?" Elvin said,
closing the sheriff's office door.

"What's this all bout, Elvin? I ain't never seen ya this upset."

"It's bout that woman, sheriff, the one in them woods this mornin'. " Elvin
said. He felt himself breaking out in a sweat. Sheriff Hancock told him to
sit down while he fetched Elvin some water and when Hancock got back, Elvin
was shaking.

"Now, what's this yer wantin' ta tell me, Elvin?" Hancock asked sitting in
his chair.

"I knowd who killed that woman, sheriff."

"Ya know who done it, Elvin?"

"Yeah, I reckon I do."

"Who?"

"Sheriff, I can't prove nothin' here, I jus suspect I know who done it. Ya
got ta help me out with somethin', sheriff, ya have to."

Elvin was rambling. The thought of his sons being responsible for a murder
and rape made Elvin feel sick to his stomach. His forehead was sweating and
beginning to drip from his flesh and Sheriff Hancock could see Elvin was
suffering. He just let the dairy farmer ramble on hoping he'd make sense and
he did. Elvin told him all about the conversation he'd heard between his own
sons and Sheriff Hancock listened with keen interest.

"I'm afeared they's the one's done it, sheriff. They's talkin' bout
attackin' Rosie Freeland, the preacher's girl. They's plannin' ta lure her
out back then grab her off in them briars. Ya gotta do some-thin', sheriff.
Ain't no more sufferin' needed by them young pretty girls out there. If my
boys is doin' this they's gotta be stopped.

"Calm down, Elvin, now jus calm down. Have ya talked this over with
Henrietta?"

"No, not a soul, sheriff. Henrietta and me ain't speakin' no way."

"Fightin' agin, are ya?" Sheriff Hancock smiled. He knew about their
frequent spats.

"She done put me out this mornin', sheriff. I'll be staying over to Arlin's
for a few days. Harless, they's gon attack that little lady if ya don't stop
em. I can't stand the idea ah my own flesh and blood harmin' no young girl,
but if they's responsible fer Millie's dyin" then they oughta pay."

Harless agreed. He called his deputy in to hear the story then he assigned
several men to the church grounds in hope they would catch Chester and
Raymond in the act.

"What bout Leroy?" Hancock asked.

"He ain't in on it, Harless. Leroy ain't that bad a boy. His brothers is the
ones. They's been bad blood from the start, but Leroy ain't got no part in
it."

"All right, Elvin, we'll take care of it, don't ya worry none. We'll catch
them boys bfore they has a chance ta harm Rosie."

"Sheriff, ya gotta promise ya won't tell who give ya this information.
Henrietta ain't never gon forgive me for this if she finds out and I gotta
get back home."

"I ain't gon say a word, Elvin. We's gon pick em boys up when they drag Miss
Rosie off. They ain't gon know nothin'. You go on back ta Arlin's place now
and let us take care of this. Elvin, let me ask ya one thing? Did ya hear
them boys use Millie's name?" Sheriff Hancock asked with a frown.

"I did, yes. I heard em call her name twicet."

Elvin did what Sheriff Hancock told him to do and he rode over to Arlin's
and waited for some' word. Hancock promised to call him once they picked
Chester and Raymond up. Elvin waited by the telephone all afternoon.

Sheriff Hancock took his deputy's out to the church grounds and spread out
waiting to catch the men attacking Rosie. Sheriff planned to let them carry
her off into the thickets before making the arrest. He wanted solid evidence
of their intention. If he could prove it he'd have grounds for an arrest for
the murder of Millie Simpson.

* * *

It was a hot Sunday. The bugs were buzzing noisily around the honeysuckle
blooms and Sheriff Hancock knew it would be at least another hour before
church let out. The police cars were left back at the station and Elmer
Saunders, the cab driver, rode them to the scene.

Sheriff Hancock instructed his men to position themselves in the thickets
behind the church and he kept a close watch from behind the large red oak
out back.

When Sunday meeting came to a close Chester and Raymond approached Rosie in
the church and asked to speak with her. At first she was reluctant to go
with the boys but Chester turned on his charm again and soon she was
delighted to have a word or two. That's the thing about Chester Hobbs. He
had it in him to be the perfect gentleman when the situation called for it.
If he hadn't been of a sick mind he'd make a good man, but Chester wasn't
quite well. Henrietta's smothering care had made her boys suffer and now
they were striking back at the woman by attacking other women.

"Let's git back here by them out buildin's and git outta this sun, Rosie."
Chester suggested. She followed. Rosie didn't see the harm. She was a
trusting girl. Young, in her mid-twenties, with long flowing blond hair and
moss green eyes. Rosie was still a virgin and Raymond liked the idea of
popping her cherry while Chester looked on.

"Wha'd you boys want ta talk with me bout?" she asked, tossing her hair back
behind her shoulders.

"Well, they's somethin' I been wantin' ta figure out, Rosie, and I figure
you'd be the bess person ta help me with it. See, Raymond and me, well, we's
wonderin' how come a pretty girl like yourself ain't married?" Chester said.

Rosie blushed. She thought Chester Hobbs was about to ask for her hand and
as she started to reply, Chester took her hand into his and gazed into her
eyes.

"I sure wouldn't mind havin' a woman like you, Rosie." he said, then Chester
quickly cupped a hand over the young beauties mouth while Raymond grabbed up
her feet.

Sheriff Hancock watched from the red oak. He allowed the two men to carry
Rosie into the woods. Sheriff Hancock knew his deputy's were close behind
and he knew they'd stop the men before any harm came to little Rosie.

"We's got her now, ain't we, Chet?" Raymond said, running with Rosie's feet
tight in his arms.

"Hush up, Raymond. We ain't fur nough out yet." Chester snapped with a
whisper. They carted Rosie deep into the woods then threw her down on the
ground and tied her mouth. Chester stood back and looked at the young lady.
He smiled then unzipped his jeans.

"I shor did mean what I said back there, Rosie. I sure wouldn't mind havin'
me a girl like you. I reckon you'd like havin' yer first cock being one this
big too." he said, whipping it out.

"Git Rosie's panties down, Raymond." Chester said jerking himself stiff.
"We's gon have us a private party with Miss Rosie Freeland."

Chester removed his pants and underwear while Raymond went after the girls
panties, but just as Raymond's hands reached up under Rosie's dress the
sheriff and five armed deputy's stormed the area and drew their weapons.

"Chester! Raymond!" Sheriff Hancock yelled. "You'd bess git them hands high
if ya plan ta keep yer ass alive."

Four

Less than a week went by before Leroy was back spying on Lindsay Potter. He
couldn't keep away from her window any longer. Lindsay Potter was the
prettiest lady Leroy had ever seen and no threat from Samuel would keep him
away.

Elvin didn't keep as close a watch on Leroy since his brothers were taken to
jail. Elvin trusted Leroy more than the others, although he wasn't one
hundred percent convinced Leroy wouldn't have raped Millie Simpson had he
been a little older. Elvin knew his sons were no good. For Leroy, it was a
matter of time.

Lindsay was busy drawing her bath and Leroy watched as she prepared the
water then undressed and climbed in. He loved seeing her smooth soft breasts
and shapely hips getting into the feed tub. Leroy wanted to make it with
her, but he knew he'd have to settle for peeping.

Lindsay lay back and let the stove warmed water soothe her tired body. She
had worked in the garden all afternoon and wasn't feeling very well. She
blamed the sun. Too much of that and Lindsay felt sick to her stomach. She
used to bathe in it when she was a teenager, but since reaching her twenties
the sun bothered Lindsay when she stayed out too long. Last year the doctor
suggested she wear a straw hat during the summer months but Mouser adopted
Lindsay's straw hat as its bed and she didn't have the heart to take it away
from him. She needed to get to town for another, but Lindsay put things off
sometimes. She didn't see the hurry now that moving to the country had
slowed her pace down considerably.

The warm water circulated over and around her long hair and Leroy watched as
she worked up a rich lather. She shampooed every Friday night and looked
forward to the occasion. As a rule, Lindsay didn't enjoy letting her hair go
a full week between washings, but she knew the natural oils were good for
it. She had a healthy lock of it, that's for certain. Never a split end on
Lindsay Potter's head. She didn't tug or pull at it when combing or brushing
and she never ever brushed while her hair was still wet.

After her hair was clean Lindsay started to soap up her body. Leroy watched
intensely through the window. His cock was swollen and tightly wedged in his
fist. He jerked off while she washed and before Lindsay had the soap rinsed
from her body Leroy was splashing come juice all over her house side.

He continued watching the young girl, wishing for a way to meet Lindsay.
Leroy fantasized about going to her door and asking if she might give him a
ride into town. He had his own vehicle, but it would be a good excuse to
speak to the woman. He even entertained the idea of catching her off guard
outside and striking up conversation about her garden, but unfortunately,
Leroy wouldn't know what to say. He rarely helped his folks with the
gardening. Henrietta wouldn't have it, a man working in her garden that way,
so Leroy knew very little about it. He knew how to drink beer and chop wood,
but he didn't do much wood chopping.

Lindsay was climbing out of the tub now and Leroy wanted to watch as she
smeared those girlie lotions on her legs. Usually this was the place at
which he lost control, but not seeing her for a week had left him horny and
he didn't last long enough.

She coated one leg well and smoothed it in, letting her dry skin soak up the
soothing moisture of the lotion and Leroy watched with eagerness. He wanted
to do it for her. He dreamed about running his hands over Lindsay's legs and
smearing creams all over her feminine form.

"What the hell are you doin' out here?" Elvin said with a whisper sneaking
up behind his son.

"Daddy? What are you doing here?" Leroy asked, backing away from the window.

"I was driving by and seen you peepin' in this window, Leroy. What the hell
do ya think yer doin?"

"Nothin'. " the boy said.

Elvin took a glimpse. He saw Lindsay stark naked applying the lotions and
for a split second he felt his cock twang, but Elvin didn't want his son to
know the sight had any effect on him.

"Git the hell home, boy. You ain't got no business peepin' in on this woman.
Does she know you're out here?"

"Sure, she won't care, daddy, I do it all the time." Leroy said.

"No more, ya don't, git on home." Elvin roared. "But, daddy." Leroy said.

"Don't, but daddy, me, son, git home. I got half a mind ta tell that woman
about this, Leroy. She oughta have a curtain up or somethin'. Go on, git
home now. Don't come back here no more." Elvin said and Leroy did what he
was told.

Elvin waited for the boy to make it across the pasture before having another
look at Lindsay. Henrietta had told him all about the young girl from
Washington, but this was the first time he'd seen her.

Elvin's pulse raced watching her dress. Lindsay slipped into her silky under
things then emptied the bath water. She was scrambling around the kitchen
like a mouse and he watched her every move when suddenly, Elvin saw
headlights in her front yard. He crouched low keeping out of sight. A man
stepped from his car and came to the woman's door.

"Hi Sam, come in." Lindsay said, opening the door.

"Hey, sugar." Samuel said, kissing his girl passionately. "Are you ready?"

"I had plenty of time to do what I needed to do if that's what you mean.
This works out much better when you arrive on time, Sam."

"Let's get started then." Samuel said. "I've got to be home early tonight.

"Let's take some coffee in the living room first." she said, hoping to stall
the man.

"Not for me, Lindsay, I just ate."

"Oh, all right then, I'll just drink a quick cup if you don't mind. It's
been a long hard day." Lindsay went to the kitchen and poured some coffee
then returned to the living room and had a seat next to

Samuel. Elvin followed. He wanted to watch what the two would do. Elvin was
feeling his excitement well. He imagined being the man in her living room
and imagined being the man Lindsay Potter entertained every Friday night.

Elvin slipped in behind the bushes for a better look into the living room.
His hands could touch the sill but he was careful to keep his face away from
the glass. He figured the man inside would kill him for sure if he were
caught.

Lindsay and Samuel talked for awhile then she put her coffee cup down. Elvin
watched the pair kissing. He tried to remember what it felt like to kiss a
woman, but Elvin couldn't anymore. Henrietta hadn't allowed kissing in years
and even if she had, Elvin relating a kiss to Henrietta wouldn't be the same
as kissing Lindsay Potter. Lindsay was young and beautiful and extremely
sexy, something Elvin never had in his wife. He watched Samuel's hands
roaming all over Lindsay's body then suddenly, Lindsay pushed away and said
something.

"Samuel, can't we just talk tonight. I've got some things on my mind and I'm
not much in the mood for sex."

"What?" Samuel replied, with a questioning grin. "I just feel like talking."
Lindsay repeated. Samuel huffed a sigh by blowing air out his nostrils then
he looked at Lindsay and grunted. "I didn't come all the way across to this
side of the county to talk, Lindsay."

"We always make love, Samuel. Let's just visit tonight, okay?"

"Look, Lindsay, there ain't no way I'm gon jus visit, okay. Give me a break.
I wait all week for this night, sugar. Don't turn me away empty handed."
Samuel said, placing one hand on Lindsay's breast and the other to her
crotch.

Elvin tried to hear what the two were saying, but the living room window was
closed and he wasn't able. He started to move closer when Mouser appeared
and Elvin tried to shoo the cat away.

"Git, go on, git, shoo, shoo." he whispered. Mouser rubbed against Elvin's
leg several times and purred. The cat took an instant liking to the aging
man but Elvin wanted it to move on and rub on something else. He didn't care
much for cats; not even Lindsay's. Elvin hoped the animal would become
dissatisfied with his lack of interest and go away so he tried ignoring the
animal.

"Sam, please. We never spend any time talking. I thought tonight would be a
good time to get to know one another better. We've been getting together
every Friday night for a long time now. Don't you have questions you'd like
to ask me?" Lindsay said, taking his hand off her crotch.

"Sure, they's one on the tip of my tongue right this minute, Lindsay."

"Good, what is it, go on, ask me, I'll answer it, Sam. I'll tell you
anything you want to know." Lindsay was encouraged. She hoped Samuel might
cooperate. She was getting tired of the same old thing every Friday. Lindsay
wanted to look deeper into their relationship and examine if there was
anything more to it than sex. She thought Sam was thinking the same way
until he asked his question.

"I wanna know why yer teasin' me this way and when the hell yer gon git them
clothes off so's we can git ta fuckin'. " Samuel snapped.

"Sam, please talk to me."

"No, Lindsay, you please. I ain't got a dern thing ta talk about no way. I
ain't come all the way out here ta shoot the shit. Git them clothes off and
stop this crap, Lindsay. I told ya I need ta git home early tonight and I
don't have time ta fool round with no experimental yak." he said, grabbing
for her.

"No, Samuel!" Lindsay shouted, pushing him away.

Elvin could see things were heating up inside. He tried to get a better
look, but Mouser was right on his heels and if he tried another window the
cat might follow and give him away. Elvin stayed put, but Samuel didn't. He
was all over Lindsay and Elvin was concerned for the girl.

"Git em off, damit!" Samuel shouted, grabbing Lindsay's nightie and yanking
it down past her shoulder.

"I'm telling you, Samuel, I'm not in the mood tonight." she tried again, but
Samuel didn't listen. He wasn't interested in what Lindsay wanted, he never
had been. Samuel wanted his weekly screwing and he planned to get it even if
Lindsay wasn't up to it. He grabbed the girl then threw her across his
shoulder and carried her to the bedroom.

Lindsay began to scream, but Samuel didn't stop. He carried her off to the
bedroom and threw her onto the bed.

"You're puttin' out, Lindsay." Samuel snapped. He unzipped his slacks to
pull them off, but as he did, Lindsay made a break for it. She ran toward
the bedroom door with the hope of getting away, but Samuel caught her just
before she was able.

"Where the hell ya think you're goin'? Git yer ass on that bed and behave."

"I'm not doing it tonight, Samuel. I'm not in the mood!"

"Well, jus relax, sugar, en I'll have ya in the mood in no time." he said,
pinning her down and mounting her.

Elvin was able to hear the screams coming out the bedroom window. He didn't
know what to do. He didn't know Lindsay well enough to know if this was part
of their usual game or if she was really being forced against her will.

He decided any woman who cried that way wasn't playing a game. Elvin thought
quickly. He bent over and scooped Mouser up into his arms then headed for
Lindsay's front door.

Elvin took a deep breath before going inside. He carefully turned the knob
then slowly opened die door and stepped inside. Elvin held onto Mouser and
bent over peeking into Lindsay's bedroom keyhole.

"I'm gon fuck ya till ya bleed, Lindsay." Samuel shouted with laughter.
Elvin saw Samuel tieing the young girl to the bed. He was using Lindsay's
stockings to secure her to the bedposts and Elvin's heart raced seeing how
Samuel had stripped Lindsay naked before tieing the knots.

"I ain't goin' home without some pussy, Lindsay, so ya may as well shut the
yellin' and put out for me." Samuel said slapping her face.

Right then, Elvin turned around and went to the front door. He opened it
then slammed it as hard as he could.

"Oops!" he shouted loudly. "Sorry Lindsay, I didn't mean for it ta slam." he
yelled. Samuel and Lindsay both heard Elvin's racket.

"Who the hell's that?" Samuel asked, looking at the girl. Lindsay didn't
answer. She didn't know. She also didn't care. Who ever it was, was just in
time.

"Where ya at, Miss Potter?" Elvin shouted. Mouser was squirming to get down,
but Elvin held fast. That cat was his excuse.

Samuel scrambled to dress. He untied Lindsay then quickly got into his pants
and shirt. Lindsay dashed for the bedroom door then opened it seeing the
strange man holding her cat.

"Lindsay?" Elvin smiled. "There yar. I found yer cat in the road again and
thought I bess bring him in. Ya need ta keep a close eye on this animal,
Lindsay, I done told ya that twenty time if I told ya once, lest he'll git
squashed in the.. . oh, I didn't know ya had company." Elvin said as Samuel
came out of the bedroom.

"Who's he, Lindsay?" Samuel asked, tucking in his shirt. Lindsay didn't know
what to say. She'd never seen the man before, but Elvin spoke right up
letting Lindsay off the hook.

"Names, Elvin Hobbs." he said, extending his -hand to Samuel. "I'z Miss
Potter's neighbor. I'm beginnin' ta think I'm her cat sitter ta tell the
truth." Elvin said smiling. "This here's the fifth or sixth time I'z had ta
fetch this rascal home, Lindsay." Elvin said, handing her the animal.
"Listen, bout that sink, Lindsay. I reckon I can fix that leak tonight if ya
don't mind. If I don't git it now it might be several weeks afore I'm able
ta git back. Lindsay's got a problem with her sink. Elvin said looking at
Samuel. "She's ask me ta have a look. Do ya fix sinks, son?" Elvin asked
Samuel.

"No." Samuel said.

"Shame, I shor could use a boy in the business, oh well, I bess get started
if I'm gon finish tonight." Elvin said. "Jus point me ta the coffee,
Lindsay. I shor am lookin' forward ta havin' a cup. It's been awhile since I
had me a cup's good's yers. Henrietta don't make coffee worth a toot." Elvin
said, looking at Samuel. "Henrietta's the wife. You shor are a lucky, boy.
Havin' Lindsay's coffee's like drinking in a fine eatin' place. I remember
the first time I had a cup." Elvin smiled. "You remember?" Elvin looked
right at Lindsay. She nodded. "It shor was good; bess I ever drunk." Elvin
added.

"Is he gon fix yer sink now?" Samuel asked with agitation.

"Got to, son." Elvin spoke up not giving Lindsay a chance to speak. "Ain't
got no time tomorra and Miss Lindsay needs it done, ain't that right, Miss
Lindsay?"

"Yes, that's right." she went along. She didn't know Elvin Hobbs from Adam,
but he was saving the day and Lindsay could tell he knew that's what he was
doing. "It needs fixing now. You'll have to go, Samuel." Lindsay said,
hoping Samuel would just leave. He did, but not before he glared at the
girl.

"There had better not be no sink trouble next week, Lindsay, ya hear me?" he
snapped.

"Well, there isn't going to be a next week, Sam. Just stay home next week.
As a matter-of-fact, just stay home every Friday. I don't want to see you
anymore."

"I'll see ya next Friday." he glared.

Samuel slammed the door as he left and Lindsay turned around and looked at
Elvin. She was in a skimpy robe and her hair was a mess from fighting off
Samuel, but it didn't matter. This stranger had rescued her and she was
grateful. Lindsay was curious about how he did it.

"Thank you." she said.

"Yer plenty welcome, ma'am. "Elvin said, putting Mouser down. "Who are you?"

"Names Elvin Hobbs. I jus live over the holler from here, ma'am."

"Well Elvin, how did you know I needed help?" Lindsay asked, sitting on the
sofa. Elvin came around and had a seat across from her. Lindsay's legs were
peeking out from her robe and Elvin felt sexual excitement seeing them. He
hadn't felt that way in over twenty five years.

"I heard the arguin', Miss Potter."

"How do you know my name?" she asked. "Do you know me?"

"Not really, no. I know of ya though. My wife Henrietta spoke yer name when
ya first come ta live in Olson. I reckon everyone knows yer name." he
smiled.

"They do?" Lindsay said with surprise. She couldn't imagine why. She rarely
got out among the town folk. She had few friends in Olson and knew fewer
people in her community. She wondered why they would know her name.

"Ain't too many people ta move into Olson but what we don't learn their
name." Elvin said. "Gossip's big business in Olson."

"You said you heard arguing?" Lindsay questioned. She couldn't imagine how
anyone could have heard it. Her bedroom was out back and Elvin would have to
be close to the house to hear. Lindsay was grateful he saved her from being
raped, but she wasn't real comfortable with Elvin's explanation.

"Yes, ma'am, I did. I'z outside and I heard it plain. I'll tell ya the
truth, Miss Potter, or can I call ya Lindsay?" he asked.

"Lindsay is fine."

"Well, Lindsay, this here's what took place." Elvin told the girl about his
son Leroy and how he'd seen the boy looking in her kitchen window. Lindsay
laughed when she heard it. She recognized the name then.

"Hobbs, of course. I've met Leroy." she said.

"Ya have?" Elvin was surprised. Leroy must have been telling the truth. Miss
Potter must have known he was peeping.

"Well, sort of." Lindsay laughed. "Samuel caught him peeking in my window
last Friday night. We told him not to do it again, but I guess he decided to
anyway."

"I'm powerful sorry, Lindsay, Elvin said. "Oh, no problem. He's just a boy.
I imagine he comes around for my bath on Friday." she said. Elvin thought it
big of Lindsay to be such a good sport, but for her to say Leroy was just a
boy confused him. Leroy was near Lindsay's age. She didn't seem angry about
Leroy sneaking a look at her and Elvin wondered why.

"How old would ya say Leroy is, Lindsay?" Elvin asked.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe nineteen." she said. "He's on up ah that, miss.
Leroy's about yer age."

"No?"

"Yes, ma'am, he ain't no boy really."

"Well, I declare." Lindsay commented.

"I sent him on home, Lindsay, but I spect he'll be back again. Leroy don't
mean no harm, but maybe ya need ta git some curtains on yer window's jus in
case he comes around again Friday." Elvin offered his opinion.

Lindsay smiled and shook her head. She didn't care if Leroy watched. It
excited her in a way knowing the young man was getting off by it.

"Part of the reason I chose to move to Olson was for the openness, Elvin. I
wanted to be in a place where curtains weren't necessary."

"You'll pardon my sayin' so, ma'am, but I don't reckon they is such a
place." Elvin said.

"I guess you're right, sir." Lindsay said.

For the first time Elvin became aware of his age. Lindsay had called him sir
and he felt stupid feeling sexual excitement over the girl now. He was
considerably older than Lindsay. She could have been his daughter.

"Well, I reckon I bess git." Elvin said, standing up to leave, but Lindsay
stopped him.

"Please stay." she said with a friendly grin. "You haven't had that cup of
coffee yet." she said thinking quickly for an excuse to keep him there. "You
did tell Samuel how much you like it." she added. "Come into the kitchen and
have a cup, Elvin. I really would like you to stay awhile."

"Well, If yer shor." Elvin said nervously. He wanted more than anything to
stay and keep Lindsay company.

"I am, yes." Lindsay said, softly. She took Elvin's hand and held it in
hers. Lindsay looked into Elvin's eyes. She smiled sweetly at him then led
him to the kitchen.

Five

Lindsay moved like a swan and Elvin loved watching her slinky nightie sway
as she led the way toward her kitchen. The only woman he'd ever seen in a
nightie was Henrietta and she moved like a water buffalo. Elvin took a seat
at the table and Lindsay poured the coffee.

"Sugar?" she asked.

"Black's fine, ma'am."

"So, you live over in the next hollow?" Lindsay said, starting the
conversation. She took the chair across from Elvin and when she sat down her
robe opened a bit showing cleavage. Elvin's heart raced. Being with a
beautiful young woman wasn't something he had experience with. He wasn't
sure he could control himself. He could keep his body in the chair all
right, but his cock wanted to jump around the room.

"That's right, jus over the hill in back. Well, that ain't true neither."
Elvin said forgetting Henrietta had tossed him out.

"I don't understand?" Lindsay said. Surely, the man must know where he
lives, she thought.

"Henrietta give me the boot last week en I'm stayin' with my brother now. He
lives over by the Crossroads. Henrietta and the boys is still over in the
holler, course, Chester and Raymond ain't."

"Chester and Raymond?" Lindsay asked.

"My other sons." Elvin said, sipping his coffee.

"Their names sound familiar." Lindsay said, squinting her eyes then rubbing
a hand under her chin. Elvin knew why. It was all over the Olson Weekly
Register. He figured it best to come out with it.

"They's the one's in jail fer attackin' Rosie Free-land." he said, lowering
his eyes. Elvin felt three inches tall. It was difficult having sons as bad
as Chet and Raymond, but having to admit it out loud was worse.

"Oh, right," Lindsay said. "I read something about that. They're your sons?"
she asked.

"I'm ashamed ta say they is, ma'am."

"You don't look old enough to have sons that age, Elvin." Lindsay smiled.

Elvin didn't know what to think about Lindsay's remark. Was she joking? Was
she just being kind? It made him feel strange. How could she just pass over
the fact that Chester and Raymond were his, plus, Elvin thought of himself
as old. Maybe because Henrietta made him feel that way. She called him "old
man" and treated him as if his mind were slipping. Elvin perked up when
Lindsay made the comment. He felt good about himself for the first time in
ages.

"They's mine. I reckon I started early with havin' kids." he said.

"Twelve?" Lindsay asked, with a smile. "How old are you?" she added.

"I'z a might bit older than twelve, Lindsay. I'm near fifty now." Elvin
said, as if fifty were the expected end of life. Lindsay grinned at the man.
She found his manner delightful.

"Fifty isn't old, Elvin, why that's just the perfect age. Men become more
interesting at fifty, don't you think?" she asked, sipping her coffee.

"I ain't shor bout that, ma'am." Elvin laughed. "I reckon I ain't feelin'
none too interestin' no way, but then I ain't rightly felt interestin' ta no
one fer some time now. Henrietta, she's my wife, Henrietta says I'm plumb
stupid. She says I cain't carry on no good talk en that I ain't had no good
idea in twenty year or more."

"That's hog wash, Elvin, why just tonight you displayed a brilliant thought.
You saved my butt, that's fot sure. Samuel would have done me great harm if
you hadn't had the wisdom to foresee his actions and break in and
interrupt." Lindsay said, appreciatively.

"I shot am sorry fer that, ma'am." Elvin said.

"For saving my ass?"

"Fer breakin' in the way I done. It's a might bit rude of me."

"Not at all. Elvin, don't you understand what you've done? You saved me from
a violent attack. Samuel would have hurt me, I just know it. Don't feel as
if you broke in, Elvin. You're a hero really."

Elvin was amazed by Lindsay's words. A hero? That was the last thing he felt
like. A hero wouldn't be peeking in her window in the first place. A hero
wouldn't be fighting to control the throb of his male parts as she spoke. He
didn't think it right for Lindsay to believe him a hero. Elvin wanted to
tell the truth about peeking in her window. He liked Lindsay and didn't want
her thinking highly of him when he didn't deserve it.

"Miss Potter?" Elvin started.

"Please, call me Lindsay." she interrupted.

"They's somethin' I reckon ya should know bout me. I ain't what ya think,
ma'am."

"What I think, Elvin. What do you mean?"

"Well, I hate it, but the truth is I'z peepin' through yer window. I caught
Leroy out there, now that's the God's honest truth, but I didn't leave after
that. I hung found fer myself awhile. I seen ya puttin' them oils on yer
legs, ma'am. I seen ya bare." Elvin squirmed in his chair. He could almost
feel the weight of an iron skillet crashing down over his head, but Lindsay
didn't make a move to get one. Instead, she smiled and Elvin didn't know
what to think.

"Ma'am, I peeped at ya." he repeated.

Lindsay still didn't answer. She was grinning sweetly at him and Elvin
wasn't sure what to do.

"I'm powerful sorry, ma'am. I bess git on now. I reckon ya want ta be
alone." Elvin pushed himself away from the table and stood up.

"Thank ya fer the coffee, Lindsay." Elvin said.

"Did you see anything you like?" Lindsay asked.

"Ma'am?"

"Through the window, Elvin? Did you see anything you like. I'd be awfully
disappointed if a man as handsome as yourself looked at me naked and didn't
see anything he liked. Not that I wish to influence your answer, mind you,
but I am curious. Did you?"

It had been years since a woman came on to

Elvin, but he was able to recognize it. He didn't understand how a young
beautiful woman like Lindsay Potter could say he was handsome, but she did.
He heard it with his own ears, and as confusing as it was, it brought a
smile over his lips.

"Lindsay, I.. . " he stammered.

"Pah-leeze, Elvin. Don't tell me you didn't." she snickered.

"Well, no ma'am, I wan't gon say that." Elvin grinned. He felt like a school
boy again talking about something he had no business talking about.

"Did you see anything you like?" Lindsay asked again getting up from her
chair and letting her robe fall open.

Elvin's heart skipped a beat. Her naked body popped out from her robe and
hit his eyes like a flash of light on a dark night, but Elvin couldn't take
his eyes off her. She was soft and smooth looking and young. Her flesh was a
delicate peach color and Elvin wanted to reach out and touch.

"I, well, I.. . " Elvin couldn't speak. His voice was gone, but Lindsay
didn't let that stop her from asking questions. She came around to Elvin and
stood directly in front of him. Her perky breasts were inches from his chest
and with her softest voice she asked again.

"Tell me if there is something you see you don't like." she said.

"No, ma'am." Elvin said. "I like what I see."

"Would you like to see more?" Lindsay cooed.

"I don't rightly know how that could be, ma'am, I can see jus bout
everythin' they is."

"Just about, yes, but what I'm wondering, Elvin is if you'd like to see it
all?"

Elvin didn't know how to answer. His cock was tingling inside his pants and
to see more of Lindsay would mean he'd have to look between her legs. Elvin
knew what the girl was saying, but he was too nervous and embarrassed to
answer. He looked at her then shuffled his feet on the kitchen floor.

"Come to the bedroom with me, Elvin." Lindsay whispered. She took his hand
and Elvin went along. He wasn't against the idea. He simply wanted to make
sure he was hearing correctly. Elvin let Lindsay take the lead in all areas.
She led him to her bedroom then closed the door.

"Let me just slip this off for you, Elvin." she said, letting her robe fall
to the floor.

"Ma'am, I.. . "

"Don't worry, Elvin, I won't bite, unless that's what you'd prefer."

"Lindsay, I ain't much at this sort a thing." Elvin said with a nervous
grunt. He laughed a little letting some of the tension escape.

"I ain't done this in twenty five year or more, Lindsay, I ain't shor I'm up
to it."

"Sure you are, Elvin, just look at yourself." Lindsay said, letting her eyes
travel to his groin.

Elvin looked down. Sure enough, his male organ was up to it, but that wasn't
what he meant.

"I ain't savin' I ain't worked up, ma'am, it's jus that, well, I ain't done
this in quite awhile's all. I shor would feel awful iffin you's ta git
disappointed."

Lindsay approached Elvin then put her arms to his waist. His cock throbbed
at the touch of her hands on him and he felt his blood pressure rising fast.

"There is no possible way a man like yourself could disappoint me, Elvin.
Come on, loosen up for me. Let me thank you properly for saving my life the
way you did."

"I don't reckon I done that, Miss Potter, I.. . "

"Lindsay."

"Lindsay. I don't reckon he'd a killed ya or nothin' such as that. He's jus
bein' a might too rough fer a lady en I didn't think it right's all."

"No, you didn't, did you, Elvin." Lindsay said whispering. "That's why I
want you. You aren't rough with a woman, are you, Elvin?"

"Well, no ma'am, I don't reckon."

"Make love to me, Elvin." she said, pressing her body to his. Elvin
hesitated for another second or two then he gave in and kissed Lindsay. She
writhed in his arms until he stopped and carried her to the bed. Elvin bent
down and scooped her up into his arms as if she were a feather. He was
feeling strong and virile again, the way he once felt, and Lindsay loved it.

Elvin placed her gently on the bed then removed his clothes. Lindsay watched
as the man carefully folded his things. She was impressed. Here was a
backwoods man with sons in jail for murdering a woman and he was as gentle
as a lamb and neat to boot. She couldn't help wondering about his boys and
how they turned out as bad as they had.

"You don't have to be on your best behavior for me, Elvin." she said hinting
he might be putting on an act for her benefit.

"Ma'am?" Elvin asked.

"The clothes, Elvin. You don't have to fold them if you don't want."

"I'm sorry, iss jus a habit I reckon."

"You do it all the time then?"

"Iffin it bothers ya I'll quit."

"No, no, please, I just didn't want you to think you had to fold them for my
benefit, that's all."

"I cain't much see how that could be. Ain't no benefit ta no one, Lindsay,
but I can quit if ya like. I shor don't wanna do nothin' ya ain't happy
with, ma'am. Iss jus what I do's all. I can unfold em if ya like."

"No, Elvin, fold them." Lindsay smiled. She found him adorable. He was
willing to please and by the looks of him, able as well. Lindsay's eyes
traveled the length of his body. She had seen many a male in her time but
none as desirable as Elvin

Hobbs. Under his unkempt exterior was a body of iron and a form sensual
enough to make any woman's mouth water. She wanted him more than ever now.
The thought of making it with an older man turned Lindsay on. She couldn't
wait for him to crawl in beside her and get started.

"I shor hope ya won't regret this come mornin'. " Elvin said, pulling back
the covers.

"Regret, Elvin?" Lindsay grinned. "The only thing I regret is not having met
you sooner."

* * *

Leroy waited an hour before going back to Lindsay's place. He wanted to give
his dad plenty of time to leave the area before he spied on her again. Leroy
wanted to watch Lindsay and her male guest in bed. He wanted to jerk off
again and think about how wonderful it would be to have Lindsay Potter.

When he got to the house, all was dark. He silently crept around to
Lindsay's bedroom window and had a listen. Leroy could hear moans coming
from inside and he was glad the action was still going on and that he'd not
missed it. He took off all his clothes this time. He wanted the warm night
air to tickle his body as he jerked off against Lindsay's bedroom wall.
Leroy got closer to the window and snuck a look.

Lindsay was on top. Her sleek body was pumping up and down over the man and
Leroy watched with excitement. He fantasized being the man under Lindsay
Potter. The man fortunate enough to be feeling her wet slippery cunt walls
hugging his cockmeat.

Leroy took his dick in hand and rubbed up and back across the shaft. He took
his time not wanting to rush the feeling, but it was a struggle. Seeing
Lindsay's long hair flowing around her cream colored shoulder's was driving
him mad and it took every ounce on concentration to fight back a climax.

He saw how she ground her pussy to the man's groin then wiggled around in
circles over it, mashing their bodies together and forcing the man to moan
with pleasure.

Leroy's dick was stick straight and ready to unload, but he held back
letting the feeling subside. He didn't want it to end. He wanted to wait and
climax at the same time Lindsay did pretending it was his doing and not the
man under her.

She was humping her cunt up and down on Elvin harder now and Leroy could
hear the man moaning loudly. He was begging for her to slow down or he'd
blow the wad, but Lindsay ignored his plea. She pumped up and down driving
his dick deep and before he could stop she was extracting his juices.

Elvin howled loudly. It was the first time in years he'd unloaded inside a
woman and the feeling was more than he could bare. He ground his groin to
her pussy then grabbed on to Lindsay's hips and held her to him. Elvin felt
his body convulsing. He pumped his load into her box in steady blasts
feeling each one. They were strong thrusting blasts shooting deep inside her
body and Elvin had forgotten how wonderful it felt to make love.

Even before Henrietta cut him off it was never like this. She let him pump
her until he finished then she'd roll over and complain about the mess.
Elvin never experienced a climax with the woman on top and it was more than
he imagined.

"Aahh!" he moaned, gritting his teeth.

"Are you all right?" Lindsay asked with a purr.

Elvin nodded.

"Is it good?" Lindsay asked, knowing full well it was. Elvin nodded again.
He was unable to speak. Her feminine form had stripped him of his voice in
addition to his energy and Elvin could only grunt. A look came over his face
Lindsay had never seen on a man. It was intense and thoughtful. Elvin was
looking into her eyes with thanks and she smiled sweetly at him.

"Can I get you anything?" she asked, after Elvin unloaded.

"Water." Elvin mumbled. Lindsay hopped off slowly then poured him a glass
from the pitcher she kept next to the bed.

"Here you go." Lindsay said.

"Thanks." Elvin said. He drank the water and asked for more. Lindsay was
pleased with him. She was happy to give the man strong feelings and even if
she hadn't finished, she was satisfied in having pleased him.

Lindsay climbed back into bed after Elvin had his fill of water and she lay
her head on his shoulder and the two rested for a few minutes. Leroy watched
through the window. His dick was still hard and ready for action, but he
wanted to wait for Lindsay to climax. He hoped the man in bed with her might
go again.

"I reckon I should ask the same bout you, Lindsay." Elvin said. "You ain't
done yet, are ya?"

"I didn't climax, if that's what you mean, but I'm satisfied. You don't have
to worry about me."

"Shor I do, it ain't right this a way, Lindsay. What sort a man would I be
if I'z ta leave ya hang-in'? " he said.

Lindsay thought it sweet of Elvin to worry about how she felt. Samuel never
did. He just took what he was after and if she finished or not it didn't
matter. She had to get off while he was still going or she could forget it.

"If you want to we could." She said.

"Shor I want ta, Lindsay. I got my breath back now, what'd ya like?"

"Just whatever." she said.

Leroy listened to the conversation with anticipation. He would have his
chance to come with Lindsay and was looking forward to it. Leroy wanted them
to get started. He was anxious to unload and knew it wouldn't take much to
pull it off. He was ripe for picking and hoped Lindsay felt the same.

Elvin rolled over onto Lindsay then kissed her passionately. He let his
tongue slip into her mouth and lick every crevice. He kept the touch gentle,
teasing her lips with his, then he started on her neck. Elvin wanted to work
Lindsay up for the taking. He planned to kiss every inch of her feminine
form sending chills through her body.

Leroy positioned himself close to the window and waited for the girl to
moan. It wasn't long before she started because Elvin was moving down to her
breasts and gently caressing and kissing them as his hands felt her hips.
Lindsay squirmed under the man and the more she moved the harder his cock
became. Elvin was amazed with himself.

"It's comin' up again, Lindsay." he said with surprise. "Would ya mind?" he
added.

"Mind? That's what I was hoping it would do. Make love to me, Elvin. Do it
until I explode."

Leroy heard Lindsay call his daddy's name and as soon as the word hit his
ears, his cock shriveled up like a sun dried prune.

"Daddy?" he mumbled under his breath. Leroy got close to the window for a
good look. It was dark, but Leroy could see silhouettes. It was his daddy
all right and Leroy could see it was. He fought back the urge to yell out.
How could this be, he wondered angrily. His own daddy fucking the woman of
his dreams! Leroy was pissed. He'd never been angrier. He was sick at the
thought of his daddy humping Lindsay, but even more angry with Lindsay for
allowing it.

Leroy had convinced himself Lindsay would never have anything to do with him
and there she was doing his daddy. He couldn't stand it. Leroy grabbed his
clothes and ran off toward the field. He couldn't bare to watch his own
father satisfying the woman he wanted.

* * *

Elvin brought Lindsay off with more excitement than she'd ever known. He was
a lover beyond her imagination. He was the best. Lindsay and Elvin shared
another cup of coffee after they made love for the second time and as Elvin
was about to leave for the night she held his hand and grinned.

"I want to see you again, Elvin." she said.

"Ya do?"

"Sure, I do. Don't you want to see me?" she asked. Lindsay hoped he would.
She couldn't bare the thought of losing him after just one night together.
He was more than enough man for her and she wanted to see him regularly.

"I shor do, Lindsay, but I jus figyad ya, well, ya know what I mean, I jus
figyad ya wouldn't want me round no more."

"Elvin, you are spectacular." she said, kissing his mouth. "I can't remember
enjoying a man's company more and as for the loving, well.. . " Lindsay
quivered. "You're the very best, Elvin. I want you to make love with me all
the time."

Elvin shook his head from side to side in amazement.

"I ain't never had no woman ta tell me nothin' like this, Lindsay. I swear,
I ain't never felt sah good. I gotta ask; I gotta know." Elvin said. "Why
would a pretty young thing like yaself be interested in a old man like me. I
ain't no prize er nothin'. "

"Elvin, you are far from being an old man, believe me." Lindsay reassured.
"Plus, I disagree with you. I think you're top prize as men go. I would be
very happy to be your girlfriend if you don't have anyone else in mind,
Elvin."

"Girlfriend?" he questioned feeling strangely.

"Yes, yours and yours alone, what do you say?" Lindsay asked with a purr.

"If you'll have me I reckon I'll stay, but I declare, girl, I cain't figya
out why a young pretty thing like yaself would want a burnt out old man."

"Honey, you ain't burnt out, you're fired up. There's a big difference."

She thought about it a moment, and then she figured he had a point. Not that
she liked it, but still, he had a point.

It took Henrietta less than five minutes to get to the jail after her two
boys called for help. She was angry about her sons arrest and demanded to
speak with the sheriff. Henrietta's was a familiar face around the jail
house. This wasn't the first time Sheriff Hancock had dealings with her.
Chester and Raymond were in and out of Hancocks jail a number of times for
drunkenness and disorderly conduct. "Harless Hancock!" Henrietta yelled,
seeing the sheriff at his desk. She stormed behind the deputy's counter and
when he tried to stop the woman she slapped him with her pocketbook.

"Take them filthy mitts offa me, ya little creep, I'm here ta see Sheriff
Hancock." she shouted.

"Leave er go, Bubba." the sheriff instructed. "Cmon in, Henrietta, have a
seat."

"I don't wish ta have no seat, Harless. I demand ta know what this is all
about! Ya called and said ya was holdin' them boys down here, now, I want
some answers."

"They's been some charges pressed, Henrietta?"

"Well, I'm shor it's the same old story, Harless, I declare, ain't you men
got nothin' better ta do then chase my boys found all day. I know they drink
a little, what boy don't, Harless, but ta follow them found the way ya do,
well, it's down right disgusting. Chester and Raymond's good boys, Harless,
they's jus a little rowdy's all."

Sheriff Hancock wasn't looking forward to telling Mrs. Hobbs her boys were
in jail for attempted rape and suspicion of murder, but he had no choice. He
asked her to have a seat and after a minute of ranting she sat down.

"When ya gon let them outta here, Harless? They's got's work ta do found the
place."

"Cmon now, Henrietta." Sheriff Hancock grinned. "I know better en that. Them
boys ain't done a lick a work out your place and ya know dern well they
ain't. I hate ta be the one's got ta break this to ya, Henrietta, but it
don't look like yer boys'll be gettin' outta her no time soon. They's in
deep trouble, Henrietta, deep trouble."

"They's always in trouble, Harless, ya know that. Jus cut ta the chase,
Harless. Tell me what the fine is en I'll be on my way."

"Ain't gon be that way this time, Henrietta."

"What on earth ya talkin' bout, Harless?"

"They ain't gon be no fine, Henrietta, not this time."

"Well, glory be, that's a relief. This here's my shoe money. I been savin'
up fer nearly two month now. I don't know how ya done it, Harless, gettin'
them off without no fine en all, but I thank ya surely. Jus have them boys
meet me out back." she said, getting up from her chair.

"Henrietta, set down a minute, please." Sheriff Hancock said. His voice was
dry like mid-west air and she turned to look at his expression.

"I reckon yer boys ain't goin' no place this time, Henrietta." he added.
"Please, set yself down and have a coffee. Bubba, git Mz. Hobbs a coffee."

"Sheriff, what's this all bout?" Henrietta asked. "I ain't got all day ta
spend found no jail house."

"Well, ya won't be needin' ta spend all day, Henrietta, but yer gon hafta
spend a minute er two hearin' the charges agin them boys."

"Go on then, what's they done now."

Sheriff took a deep breath then let it out slowly. Bubba came in with the
coffee and after Henrietta took a sip he let it fly.

"Henrietta, them boys is here fer attemtin' rape on a girl en on suspicion a
murder." he blurted. Sheriff Hancock held steady waiting for the words to
sink into Henrietta Hobbs mind and when her reaction came he had to call
Bubba back in to contain the woman.

"Now, I know how ya feel, Henrietta, but flyin' off the handle ain't gon
help them boys none, yhear."

"They's a mistake, Harless. Ya done made a terrible mistake. My boys ain't
done no such a thing en I can prove them's innocent!"

"Henrietta, I caught em myself jus this mornin'. They's guilty. I seen what
they done m'self. Git control. Calm down."

"What the hell ya mean ya seen em, Harless. Seen em how?"

"Henrietta they's been caught draggin' young Rosie Freeland out back ah her
daddy's church en they's been seen makin' advances."

"Rosie Freeland! Rosie Freeland's a tramp, Harless. Why, she ain't no
bett'rn that Washington floozie up on the ridge. Ya done made a mistake,
Harless. My boys ain't guilty."

"They's plenty guilty, Henrietta. I seen them with my own eyes!" Sheriff
Hancock shouted then slammed his office door. He heard all he cared to hear
from Henrietta Hobbs. For years she'd pranced in and out of the jail bailing
out Chester and Raymond, covering up for them and lying, if she had to, to
save their asses, but no more. Not this time. He caught them outright and no
amount of yelling from Henrietta Hobbs would change the facts.

"How come ya let them boys walk over ya this a way, Henrietta? I'll never
understand it, Henrietta, but they ain't gon do it ta the good folk in Olson
County no more. I'm gon personally see they stand trial fer the murder of
Millie Simpson, but before that they's gon go ta trial fer abductin' little
Rosie Freeland! Them's bad boys ya have there, Henrietta, powerful bad. Why
cain't ya see them fer what they is?"

Henrietta pointed her finger at Harless and shook hard.

"Don't ya never speak bout my boys attaway, Harless. They's good boys.
They's jus rowdy's all. Hell, all boys is rowdy now en agin. Chet and Ray
ain't no different."

"Henrietta, they done attempted rape and they done murdered a young woman
last week. That don't make em rowdy, makes em killers. Dangerous killers."

"I wanna see them boys, Harless, ya take me ta see em this minute."
Henrietta sneered. She didn't like what the sheriff said. Henrietta didn't
want to hear it. As far as she was concerned, Chester and Raymond could do
no wrong. Harless Hancock made a mistake, that's what Henrietta Hobbs wanted
to believe.

"C'mon then, they's down in back, but I'm tellin' ya, Henrietta, they's in
deep this time round. Them boys is in big time trouble."

Sheriff Hancock led the way and Henrietta was at his heels. She planned to
get to the bottom of it by asking her boys for the truth. She was prepared
to do whatever was necessary to spring her sons from jail, even selling
Elvin's house if necessary.

"Maw?" Chester said with surprise, seeing Sheriff Hancock with Henrietta.

"Chester, Raymond, step back from them bars en let yer momma in." the
sheriff ordered.

Sheriff opened the door and Henrietta stepped inside. She ordered him to
leave her alone with the boys and he agreed.

"I'll be back in fifteen minutes, Henrietta."

"Fine, jus go on and leave us be."

Henrietta took a seat on the lower bunk then put her floppy pocketbook down.
She looked at Chester and Raymond with surprise then began questioning them.

"What the hells goin' on?" she snapped.

"Maw, what er ya doin' here?" Chester asked.

"Wadda ya mean, what em I doin' here, fer God sake boy, my sons in jail and
ya ask what em I doin' here? Harless give me the call, Chester. How come him
ta call? How come my own son din't call? Since when's yer momma left outta
such a thing? Now, jus set yer ass down en start talkin'. Harless says yer
in big trouble, Chester. What the hells goin' on?"

"Ya shoon't ah come, maw."

"Well, I did come, Chet, now quit changin' the dern subject. Raymond, tell
yer momma what's goin' on."

"No maw, Chet's right. Yain't got no need ta be down here no way."

"The man calls me on the telephone and tells me my two best sons is down in
the jail house and woon't I like ta know, then I git all the way down here
ta find out some fickle little girl cross town's chimin' my boys raped her
en ya stand there tellin' me I ain't got no business down here? One of ya's
had bess start talkin' lest I'll beat the livin' hell out both yer asses.
Talk Raymond!"

"They ain't nothin' ta say, maw. Sheriff Hancock jus picked us up, that's
all."

"Chester, Harless Hancock is sayin' ya both done some woman in. He's out
there talkin' bout a murder en sayin' you's the one's done it, now, I ain't
no scholar mind ya, but it don't take a dern wizard ta figya it no way. You
boys is in deep trouble. If ya spect ta git out this place, ya'll had betta
talk. Harless ain't jokin', boys. Ya'll bess speak up."

"Maw, it ain't no matta. Jus go on back ta the house en fgit bout us."

Henrietta took as much stalling as she was prepared to take. She jumped up
from the bunk, grabbed her pocketbook and began hitting Chester over the
head. His hands flew up to cover his head, but Henrietta didn't back off.
She walloped him good then turned her anger on Raymond.

"I ain't standin' fer no more. Ya'U had bess spit it out. One of ya's had
bess start talkin' or I'll beat the hell plumb out of ya."

Chester kept quiet but Raymond started to speak. He would rather face the
wrath of the courts than Henrietta's furry.

"We's picked up out back the church, maw. We's fixin' ta make it with Rosie
Freeland's all."

"What's at mean, boy, fixin' ta make it? Make what?"

"Aw, maw!" Raymond said, embarrassment in his tone. "Talk boy!"

"Ya know what we mean, maw. Make it, ya know, like git a little from Rosie's
all. We'uz jus havin' fun."

"Did ya'll rape that girl?" Henrietta asked with little patience.

"No, maw, we never done it."

"Was ya fixin' ta rape that girl?" she blurted. Henrietta wanted to the
bottom.

"Maw, I don't know. We'uz jus funnin'. Chet and me was jus play in' with the
girl."

"Was she wantin' ta play, Raymond? Was Rosie Freeland uv a mind ta let ya
play?"

"I don't reckon." Raymond mumbled.

"This is shit!" Chester shouted. "Jus git home, momma, this ain't no concern
ah yers."

Henrietta slapped Chester's mouth as hard as she could and he instinctively
raised a fist to strike back then decided against it. Henrietta didn't
flinch. She stood her ground in front of Chester and stared him down.

"Harless says the two of ya's done some woman in out at Poplar Gap." she
stated coolly. Henrietta glared at Chester waiting for an answer, but he
spoke one she wasn't ready to hear.

"Yeah, we done Millie Simpson, so what. She's a fuckin' bar fly, momma. She
had it comin'. "

"Are ya sayin' Harless is right, boy? Ya killed a girl?"

"Raymond and me's jus took what she wanted ta give. Hell, she gives it ta
every man they is, maw. She give it, we took it, simple as that."

"The woman is dead, Chester! Stone cold dead! It ain't that simple no more.
Did ya kill that girl or din't ya?"

"She wan't movin' none once we got done." Raymond said.

"Shut the fuck up, Raymond, dern yer hide anyway."

"Well, she wan't, Chet! Ya know dern well Millie was jus lyin' there, hell,
I don't know if we killed the girl, maw, she's jus layin' there's all. We
din't mean ta hurt Millie. We'uz jus havin' some fun."

Henrietta sat down before her knees gave way. She couldn't believe it. Her
boys had killed a girl and attempted to rape another. Chester and Raymond,
Henrietta's pride and joy, had crossed the line between good and evil and
the hard facts were starring her square in the face. Henrietta's mind began
churning like a grist mill grinds corn. She wanted to protect her boys.

"Let me git this straight. This Millie girl's a bar fly. A no good woman,
right?"

"A pig, momma, a slut en a whore. She weren't no dern good no way." Chester
said.

"Shut up, boy." Henrietta shouted. "She's a bar fly, right?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, en this girl done give permission ta do whatever to er, right?"

"Well,. . . " Raymond began.

"That's right, momma." Chester interrupted.

"Fine, they ain't no way Harless can sight ya fer the woman's death. Ya
din't shoot the girl nor stab her with no knife did ya?"

"No ma'am."

"Ya'll din't beat her ta death, right?"

"Nope. She's jus layin' there, but we din't hurt her none, maw."

"How come er ta die, Chester?" Henrietta asked.

"Don't rightly know, maw."

"Ya'll must a seen somethin'? "

"Nope. Millie jus quit movin'. "

"Well, Harless Hancock ain't got nothin' then. If ya din't outright murder
the girl they ain't no way he's gon hang ya fer her death. Never ya mind,
boys, I'll have a talk with Harless en we'll git this mess cleared up."
Henrietta said. She began banging her keys on the cell bars until Harless
came for her.

"Me en you's gon talk." she said as Harless unlocked the cell door. "Ya'll
set tight now, y'hear. It ain't gon take long ta git ya out." she said to
Chester and Raymond.

When they got back to Sheriff Hancock's office Henrietta had a seat and told
him she'd like another coffee. Harless sent Bubba for it. While the deputy
fetched Henrietta's coffee the sheriff showed her pictures of Millie's body.

"Bess have a look et these, Henrietta." he said, handing her the photos.
"This here's the way Millie Simpson is found. This here's what Chester and
Raymond call's havin' a little fun."

Henrietta looked at them then quickly handed them back. She felt angry at
the sheriff for showing her such a thing.

"Chet says this woman's a no count bar fly, Harless. Says she ask them boys
fer it. I believe him, Harless. My boys wouldn't do such a thing as
murde-rin' no girl, but they's boys, Harless. Iffin some loose bar fly's
offerin' herself, they's gon take what she give."

Sheriff Hancock could see the rage building in Henrietta's eyes. He knew
she'd take their side and not believe her sons could murder or rape an
innocent girl. He also knew Henrietta would use Millie's reputation as
justification for her sons act.

He kept silent for a second or two and after Bubba came in with Henrietta's
coffee, Harless lit into the woman.

"Chester and Raymond tell ya how Millie died, Henrietta?" he asked with a
smirk of disgust.

"They did." she stated.

"And?"

"And I cain't see's how ya can blame era fer it. The woman was a no good bar
trash, Harless. She uz trash. She jus dropped dead's all. It ain't my boys
fault no way. Ya cain't prosecute a boy cause his whore drops dead during
the thing now can ya?"

"Henrietta, I don't rightly know what them boys is told ya bout Millie
Simpson's death, but I'll give it to ya straight. Millie Simpson died of a
crushed windpipe. She slowly suffocated ta death en the coroner's done told
me in his report that the cause of it crushin' was sodomy."

"So?"

"Henrietta, ain't ya listenin'. I said sodomy. One of them boys forced
hisself down her throat sah hard it broke the woman's windpipes."

"Forced what, Harless, I ain't got no idea what ya mean." Henrietta shouted.

"His penis, Henrietta, one of them boys forced his penis into her throat!"
Sheriff Hancock shouted.

Henrietta's face went white. She'd never heard of such a thing. Why would a
man force his penis into a woman's throat, she wondered. It ain't natural,
she thought. For several minutes Henrietta didn't reply. She sipped her
coffee and thought about Harless's words.

"Henrietta, can I drive ya home now?" Harless asked, feeling sorry for the
woman. She seemed distant and confused.

"Home?" she questioned.

"They ain't nothin' ya can do fer them boys this time, Henrietta. They's got
themselves into deep trouble. It'd be bess ta jus go on home en fergit bout
it. They's of age. They's gon hafta git through this alone."

"Harless, my boys ain't the one's done this awful thing. They cain't be the
one's done it. Chester and Raymond's jus rowdy, that's all, but they ain't
guilty ah forcin' no woman that a way."

"Henrietta, I caught em in the woods behind the church this mornin' en as
hard as it is fer ya ta accept, Chester and Raymond was fixin' ta do the
very same thing ta Rosie Freeland. I'm sorry ya hafta hear this, but I seen
em with my own eyes, Henrietta."

"What'd ya see, Harless, what?"

"I seen them fixin' ta do the same thing ta Rosie, that's what I seen."

"Was them boys forcin' her that a way, Harless. Did ya actually see my boys
doin' such a horrible thing?"

Harless was silent. He could see how upset Henrietta was.

"Ya din't then, right. My boys jus ain't capable of such a thing, Harless.
They jus cain't be."

"Henrietta, go on home. Let me drive ya."

No, I wanna hear them boys tell it a'gin. Take me back ta see Chester,
Harless. I wanna hear them boys tell me ta my face they done such a thing."

"Henrietta, please. This ain't the way. It don't matter what them boys tell
ya, I seen them with my own two eyes en the coroner's done made his report.
We know what took place, Henrietta."

"I ain't leavin' till I talk with them boys agin, Harless."

Sheriff Hancock took her back to their cell and when Henrietta got inside
she looked Chester square in the eye and asked outright.

"Which one of ya's forced that woman out at Poplar Gap." she asked. "I wanna
hear from the one who's done such a thing. One of ya's done it, that's fer
shor, en I ain't leavin' here till the guilty one says. Come on, which one
done crushed that poor woman's throat."

"Maw?" Chester said.

"Were it you, Chet?" she asked, looking at him. Chester didn't reply.

"I ain't never heard ah such a thing in all my life, Chester. It's the most
horrible thing I ever imagined a man ta do. Was it you crushed that woman's
pipes, Chet. Was it you done such a sick thing?"

"No, it wan't me, maw." Chester sneered. "Raymond's the one done it to er."

Henrietta turned her face toward Raymond. She waited for his response to
Chester's accusations, but no response came.

"Don't tell me it'uz you, Raymond. Not my baby." Henrietta wailed.

"I ain't yer baby, maw. Leroy's yer baby." Raymond snapped with humiliation.

"You the one's done this thing, Raymond?"

Raymond wouldn't reply. He lowered his face and looked at his feet.
Henrietta knew by his reaction he was the guilty one. She felt a shiver up
her spine. Henrietta turned and walked out of the cell without a word. She
couldn't speak, and even if she had been able, what was there to say?

"I reckon you'd bess take me home, Harless. I ain't up ta drivin' no way."

"Fine, Henrietta, fine." Sheriff Hancock said, locking the cell door.

She didn't utter a sound all the way to the place. Henrietta felt ashamed
and humiliated. Her boys had done the worst imaginable crime and she was
devastated by the knowledge.

"Henrietta, they's no point in worryin' yself over this. They's gon hafta go
through the court and pay fah what they done, but it ain't yer fault no
way." Sheriff Hancock said.

"Harless, I spent my life lookin' afta them boys. They's my pride, Harless.
They's my fruit. I give them the best I had. I worked hard ta raise them
boys so's they'd know right from wrong en I never once let them go hungry
nor cold nor without the things they needed. Ain't nobody gon understand how
such a thing hurts till they is facin' the same. I ain't never gon be able
ta live with this, Harless. They ain't no way in God's green earth I can go
on bout mah life knowin' them boys is done such a horrible thing. Why, I
ain't never heard ah such a practice. They's got ta be a reason why Raymond
done such a strange thing, Harless. Them evil spirits talked bout in the
good book musta swooped down on mah boy en made him plumb crazy."

Seven

Their first night in jail went smoothly. Chester and Raymond shared the
cell, but with two other bunks available, they realized it was a matter of
time before Sheriff Hancock filled the beds next to theirs.

When Chet woke he shouted for the deputy. Ideal prisoner's, they weren't.
Demanding, rowdy and generally uncooperative, Chester and Raymond put the
jail deputies through their paces.

"Hey boy, when's we gon git breakfast?" Chester shouted. "Wake up, Raymond.
Hep me git them jack asses movin'. " Chester shook his younger brother.

"What the hell ya doin'? " Raymond said, rolling over.

"Git yer ass up, boy. It's time ta eat. Hey!" Chester shouted again. "Git us
some food'n here. We demand some breakfast!"

Raymond jumped up and started helping his brother shout for the deputies.
Raymond was like that. He went along with whatever Chester did. Once, when
they were young, Chester threatened Raymond if he didn't help set fire to
the school library and from then on Raymond had done whatever his oldest
brother wanted without question.

Raymond refused to help burn the library and Chester beat him until his face
was a bloody pulp. He never let Raymond forget it either. When ever he
wanted the boy to go along he'd bring it up and Raymond would snap to
whatever Chet wished of him.

"Food! Food! Food!" they shouted, and the deputy came in.

"Pipe down." he said.

"When's we gon git some food in here, Ike?" Chester asked.

"It's comin', it's comin. I swear, Chet, if ya don't keep it down they's gon
delay breakfast 'til ya do."

Ike said. Ike Staunton went to school with Chester Hobbs. They weren't
friends. Ike hated the Hobbs boys. If he wasn't the sheriff s deputy Ike
would like to do away with the both of them. He especially disliked Raymond.

Chester didn't stop. He got louder, and the louder he became the louder
Raymond became until the sheriff came in to see what the problem was.

"You boys got some sorta trouble this mornin'? " Sheriff Hancock asked
sharply.

"When's we gon git breakfast?"

"Mz. Hancock's bringin' it over directly, now you boys quiet down en show a
little patience lest I'll have ya moved. Ya won't git diddly squat iffin I
move ya sah ya bess shut it up."

"Whar to, sheriff?" Chester wanted to know.

"Never ya mind, Chester. Jus keep yer yellin' down lest ya'll wish ya had."
Sheriff said. "If ya ain't quiet in one minute ya'll see whar to. Ike, git
them boys a tray from Irene so's they'll shut it up." Sheriff added. He
looked Chester in the eye and gave him a warning.

"If ya'll cain't keep it down, Chester, I'll have Ike here move one of ya's
ta C block and let me tell ya, Chet, ya ain't gon want that. Them boys out
in C will bust ya ass in a minute. If ya ain't quiet I'll personally move
ya."

Chester and Raymond piped down through breakfast and lunch. Raymond pleaded
with his brother to keep quiet. The thought of Chet being moved was more
than Raymond could bare. Without his big brother around Raymond wouldn't
know what to do.

Ike brought them a deck of cards and Chester was involved with a game of
solitaire while Raymond looked at a magazine. All was peaceful when they
brought him into the cell, but Chester could see trouble on its way.

"Ya'll got company." Ike said with a smirk, unlocking the cell door and
shoving the hulking man inside. "Ya'll treat Vernon right, ya hear."

Ike slammed the cell door and turned the key. Chester and Raymond got to
their feet seeing the man. He was a giant of a guy, standing over six five
and weighing close to three fifty if he was a pound and Chester and Raymond
swallowed their saliva in fear.

"How do." Chester offered, but the man didn't respond. "Names Chet and this
here's my brother Raymond." The man walked up to Chester and peered down at
him.

"You the welcome wagon?" Vernon asked, sarcastically.

"I'z jus sayin' hello's all."

"Yeah, well, shut the fuck up. I ain't here on no social call." Vernon said
shoving Chester back against the wall. Raymond gulped saliva. His eyes big,
his pulse racing, Raymond didn't flinch as

Vernon looked him over.

"Now, yer a sweet lookin' boy." Vernon said, grabbing Raymond's shirt
collar. "What cot ya sleep in, boy?"

"Top." Raymond said with fear. "It's that one ore' there." He pointed behind
him to the top bunk then faced Vernon again.

Raymond felt the fear welling in his veins. Vernon wasn't the sort of man to
make small talk or to take any bull. He had huge rough hands and a set of
thighs more massive than the green man on television during Saturday morning
cartoons.

"That dog yer kin?" Vernon asked, nodding toward Chester.

"He's mah brother." Raymond said with a quiver.

"Well, keep yer fuckin' brother out mah face, boy. I ain't in no mood fer
dogs."

Vernon unhanded Raymond and took a seat on Chet's bunk. Chester didn't dare
say a word. His shoulder was aching from hitting the wall. He knew this
Vernon character would put his lights out if he mentioned anything about
bunks.

Chester went back to his cards leaving Raymond to deal with Vernon alone. He
figured it had to be every man for himself where this Vernon was concerned
and brother or not, Raymond would have to deal with it.

Chester was like that. He'd defend Raymond only if the one picking on the
boy was smaller than himself, but a hulking giant like Vernon wasn't worth
rushing to Raymond's side. Chester wouldn't risk getting his ass kicked for
no one, not even kin.

Vernon kept a staring eye on Raymond and it made the boy nervous. He watched
every move the boy made. Raymond tried to go about his business, but with
Vernon sitting on his bunk he wasn't able to get back to bed and aside from
sitting on the floor or using the toilet, laying down was all there was to
do. Raymond had a lay down on the other set of bunks and Vernon watched.

"Chet, can I play with ya?" Raymond asked, hoping to avoid comment from
Vernon, but Vernon snickered.

"It's solitaire, Raymond." Chester said, not letting his brother play.

"I'll let ya play with me, boy." Vernon said, but Raymond didn't answer. He
didn't dare look in Vernon's direction.

"Cmon over here, Raymond. Play with this awhile, hell, once ya had a taste
of it ya won't want ta play with no one else." Vernon said, cupping his
cock.

Raymond didn't reply. He refused to look at the man and by avoiding Vernon
it pissed the hulking giant off.

"Hey, I'm speakin' ta you, boy!" Vernon shouted. Raymond looked across the
room and saw Vernon's hand over his balls.

"I reckon I'll jus read some." Raymond said meekly.

"Yeah, well read my lips!" Vernon shouted. "Git yer ass over here!"

There was a dead calm in the room. Raymond wanted his big brother to step in
and make things right just the way he'd always done, but Chester didn't
utter a peep. He kept his back to the scene and when Raymond saw he would
get no help from his brother he squirmed nervously.

"I reckon I bess read some, Vernon, thanks jus the same." Raymond said.

Vernon sprang up from his bunk and walked across the cell to Chester. He
grabbed the man up from his card table and held him against the cinder block
wall.

"I reckon while ya read some I'll smash this fucker's head in, unless ya
change yer mind en git over ta that bunk. If ya was ta do what I say, this
sorry dick can git back ta playin' solitaire."

"Don't hurt Chester!" Raymond begged. "I'll go. Here, I'm goin', cmon now,
leave Chester be." Raymond jumped off his bunk and ran across the room to
Vernon's. He sat down on it and asked Vernon to let Chester go.

Vernon grinned then shoved Chester back into the chair. He came back to his
bunk and had a seat next to Raymond.

"Yer brother, huh?" Vernon said, looking at

Raymond. "Ya like that brother, don't ya, boy."

"Yeah, I like im." Raymond answered. "He ever done fer ya."

"Plenty, I spect."

"Like what, boy ? " Vernon asked with a snicker.

"I don't know, jus stuff. He's my brother. Chet's done plenty."

"Ya wanna see Chester alive in the mornin'? "

Raymond didn't answer. He looked into Vernon's eyes hoping for a clue as to
his meaning, but Vernon didn't give a clue. He just asked the boy again.

"Well, what's it gon be, boy? Dead er alive?"

"Alive, I reckon."

"Ya reckon? Ya reckon?" Vernon laughed. "That's what I call brotherly love
all right. Alive, I reckon." he mocked. "I'll tell ya what, Raymond, you en
me's gon cut a deal ta keep Chester's ass alive, how bout it?"

"A deal?" Raymond asked. Chester's ears were keenly tuned into their
conversation although he didn't turn around to look at Vernon nor give any
indication he heard them talking. Raymond was going to have to get himself
out of this one because Chester wanted no trouble with the likes of Vernon.

"That's right, boy. I'm gon give ya the chance ta repay brother Chet over
there fer all the stuff he done fer ya over the years. If ya do what I tell
ya, the fucker will live, but if ya fight me, or if ya make a sound ta bring
them cops back here, old brother

Chet might jus fine hisself a bit short in the livin' department, ya git my
drift?"

"Wadda ya want me ta do?" Raymond asked, curiously.

"Now, that's the sort ah attitude I'z hopin' ta see, boy." Vernon said,
turning toward Raymond. "Git down on ya knees, boy. Go on, git down on the
floor." Vernon ordered Raymond to kneel in front of him and Raymond did. He
was nervous and afraid what Vernon might do, but he believed the man would
kill Chester and no matter what, Raymond couldn't allow that to happen.

Vernon unzipped his fly and pulled out his cock. He wrapped his fist to the
shaft and stroked up and down while Raymond looked on. The boy was too
afraid to pull back. He watched Vernon jerking his dick to full size and the
fear took over his body.

"Slip a lip ta this, boy en Chet there will see the light ah day." Vernon
said.

"What?" Raymond asked, not believing the request.

"Wassa matter boy, ya hard ah hearin'. Suck my dick and the brother lives."

"Chester?" Raymond said, turning to look at his brother for help, but
Chester didn't turn around.

"Fgit Chet, boy. He ain't gon hep ya. Chet knows I'll kill him en he ain't
gon risk his ass fer the likes ah you no way. Chet knows ya ain't gon let
him down, boy. Go on, slip a lip found this dick en have a suck."

"Chet, do somethin'? " Raymond pleaded.

"Do what, Raymond?" Chester yelled.

"Somethin', anythin'! " Raymond begged, but Chester just took in the scene
then turned his back to the men. There was nothing he could do without
getting his ass smeared all over the cell walls.

"I'm gon give ya three seconds, boy. Suck it lest I'll splatter brother
Chet's brains." Vernon sneered.

Raymond tried closing his eyes and opening his mouth, but he couldn't get
his face to move forward. It was no use. He couldn't do it. He jumped back
away from Vernon then got to his feet.

"I cain't!" he shouted with tears in his eyes. "I ain't never don nothin'
like et. I cain't do it!"

Vernon wasn't going to have a scrawny man like Raymond Hobbs show him up. He
snarled at the boy then jumped up and ran toward Chester with anger in his
blood.

"Leave 'im be, Vernon." Raymond shouted, but Vernon grabbed Chester up from
the chair and whipped the man around then landed a left hook to his mouth
sending Chester flying across the card table onto the cold cement floor.

"No!" Raymond screamed, running to Chester's side. Raymond sat on the floor
holding Chester's torso in his arms. Chet's mouth was bleeding badly and
Raymond shivered with fear.

"Raymond." Chester whispered. "The man's gon kill me dead, Raymond."

"He cain't, Chet, we's in jail. They ain't gon let him kill ya, I swear they
ain't."

"Raymond, the man's gon kill me in my sleep if ya don't do what he ask."

"I cain't, Chet. I ain't never sucked a man's dick, I cain't do it."

"He's gon kill me dead if ya don't do what he ask, Raymond. Ya ain't got no
choice. Do ya want me ta die? What the hell's ya gon do afta I'm dead,
Raymond? Do what he ask, don't let the man kill me."

"I cain't, Chester, I jus cain't!"

"He'll do it." Chester said.

"Chester, no!" Raymond cried.

"Good, git him over here then." Vernon said.

Chester got to his feet and began dragging his brother across the floor to
Vernon. Raymond screamed and cried, but Chester didn't back off. He took his
younger brother to the man then let him loose. Raymond curled up into a ball
and hud-died in the corner next to Vernon's boots and Chester backed away
from the two men.

"Wise decision, brother Chet." Vernon snickered. "Git that boy up on his
feet."

Chester did what Vernon told him to do. He pulled Raymond up then backed off
again.

"Git him undressed, Chester."

"Undressed?" Chester questioned.

"Pants off." Vernon said.

Chester started toward his brother, but Raymond yelled out.

"No! Git way from me. Leave me be!"

Vernon grabbed Raymond and held a hand over his mouth.

"Git era off!" Vernon sneered, and Chester unzipped his brothers jeans and
yanked them to his ankles. Raymond kicked and twisted in Vernon's hold, but
Chester managed to get the slacks off.

"What ya gon do?" Chester asked, looking at Vernon.

"I'm gon git me a little tight fuck's what I'm gon do en yer gon hep."
Vernon snickered. "Bend this boy cross that bunk en hold Im down."

Chester hesitated. He didn't want his brother raped, but when he looked at
the power and strength of Vernon he quickly decided to save his own ass.

Raymond's mouth was unhanded and he screamed out for help. His shrill cries
could be heard in the sheriff s office and Harless slammed his fist to the
desk in disgust.

"What the hell's goin' on with them boys now?" he said, looking at his
deputy. Them Hobbs boys is a royal pain in the ass, Ike. They's a couple
burrs in my saddle fer shor."

"Ya want me ta check, sheriff?" Harless thought about it for a minute then
decided to let them holler awhile.

"No, leave em be. I ain't runnin' every time they git a hair up their ass,
hell, if I do they ain't never gon shut up. Les jus let em brew awhile,
hell, close the block door. Maybe that'll close off the noise."

Ike closed the door between the cell blocks and the front office then went
back to his desk. It helped some, but Raymond's shouting continued. It grew
louder and louder with each cry until finally the sheriff told Ike to go in
and tell them boys if they didn't hush up, Chester was going to C block.

Ike went back to the jail cell to warn the boys what Sheriff Hancock said,
but as he turned the corner and peered into their cell, he stopped in his
tracks. Ike saw Chester holding his brother across the bunk while Vernon's
bare muscular ass slammed up against Raymond in a sexual fury.

Vernon was raping the young Hobbs and Chester was helping. Ike didn't try to
stop the rape. He didn't care. The Hobbs boys had it coming was the way Ike
saw it. He backed up then turned around and came back to Sheriff Hancock's
office.

"I told em." Ike said.

"And?"

"I give em five minutes ta stop or you's gon move Chet out."

"They ain't keepin' it shut yet." Sheriff said, hearing Raymond's loud
yells.

"I give em five minutes, sheriff."

"All right, but keep en eye on that clock and when the times up, if they
ain't shut up, git in thar and move Chet ta C block. I ain't gon have this
shit goin' on in this jail."

Ike went back to his desk. He had a sense of satisfaction knowing Raymond
Hobbs was getting what he deserved. Ike never liked Raymond. He caught the
boy with his younger sister when they were still in high school and he never
got over it. She claimed he was her boyfriend, but Ike never bought it. He
believed his sister was being threatened into saying it to keep Raymond from
beating her up.

Ike watched the clock hoping Vernon would git finished before the five
minutes was up and Raymond would stop screaming, but as the big hand swept
to the end of the time, Sheriff Hancock told Ike to get back in there and
move Chester to C block.

"I ain't puttin' up with no more shit from them boys." Harless snapped.
"Move Chester then tell Raymond if he don't keep his big mouth shut he ain't
gon see his brother 'til the trial."

"Okay, sheriff, but are ya shor ya wanna move Chet?"

"As in what, Ike?"

"Well, maybe ya should move Raymond, I mean, he's the one makin' all the
racket. Maybe Raymond should move ta C instead."

"Hell, Raymond Hobbs woon't last three minutes, in C. Them boys Id have him
fer supper's soon's he stepped in. No, move Chester. Chet's in better shape
ta defend hisself in C."

"Okay, sheriff." Ike said.

Ike went toward the cell to move Chester and before he turned the corner he
yelled out warning them he was coming.

Vernon had just finished with Raymond and was zipping up his jeans when Ike
rounded the corner. Raymond was in Vernon's bunk covered up and laying in a
ball and Chester was standing next to his brother not saying a word.

"Sheriff says yer outta here, Chester. All the racket's bought ya a slot in
C."

"Yer movin' me?" Chester asked with relief. He was glad to be moved out away
from his brothers wrath and the possible rape by Vernon. Chester didn't want
to be next on the giant man's list.

"That's right, yer goin' on vacation, Chet. To fabulous C block. Hell,
you'll have a good time there, Chet. Them boys in C know how ta have a good
time, don't they Vernon?" Ike snickered looking at the mean ugly giant.
Vernon sneered at the deputy.

Ike unlocked the cell and cuffed Chester for the move. He locked up upon
leaving Raymond and Vernon inside, but before Ike took Chester away he
looked at Vernon and gave him a warning.

"Now, Vernon, this here's that boys kin. Whilest he's gon watch over his
baby brother there. Take good care ah Raymond, Vernon. He's gon need lookin'
afta." Ike laughed.

"I'll take care ah, Raymond, don't ya worry none bout him, Ike. Raymond's in
good hands."

"Raymond." Ike shouted. "Sheriff wants me ta tell ya if ya ain't quiet he's
gon keep Chet in C 'til the trial. It's bess if ya just shut up that
hollerin' if ya wanna see brother Chet agin, en I'm shor ya do." Ike
snickered again.

Raymond peered out from the covers and glared at his brother. He was angrier
than he'd ever been. If Raymond could kill Chester right there and then he
would have. He didn't care if Chester ever made it back from C. Raymond
wanted his brother to suffer the way he suffered.

"Take real good care ah that boy, Vernon." Ike said, leaving with Chester.

"Whar's this C?" Chester asked, being yanked down the hall.

"That's right, Chet? Ya ain't never been in C, have ya? Well, yer in fer a
real treat, Chet. Them boys in C will make ya feel right at home."

Eight

Henrietta called Elvin's brother's house. She wanted to speak with Elvin,
but Arlin lied and said he wasn't in.

"Where's he at?" she demanded, but Arlin claimed he didn't know. i "I'll
give 'im yer message, Henrietta." Arlin said, politely.

"Tell 'im we's gotta talk. Chet and Raymond's needin' hep en I ain't able ta
give it less'n Elvin hep's me."

Elvin waved frantically at Arlin indicating he'd speak with his wife, but
Arlin said good-bye then hung up the phone.

"Whad ya do that fer, Arlin?"

"Ya can call back if ya like, Elvin, but Henrietta's not wantin' nothin' but
a hand out fer them boys ah yers. That woman don't never want nothin' but
what she can git, Elvin."

"Maybe she wants me ta come home, Arlin?"

"En I spose ya wanna go?"

"It's mah home, Arlin."

"It's yer prison, ya mean. Elvin, when ya gon git it through ya head
Henrietta ain't no good. She's been bitchin' at ya fer near a quarter
century now. Hell, if it'uz me, I'd be glad ta be loose uv er."

"It ain't like I'm in love with Henrietta, Arlin, she's jus got my home's
all. I worked my ass off fer that house. I ain't likin' the idea ah
Henrietta takin' it from me. Iffin she let's me back I can git a foot hold.
I can make er life miserable hough ta where she'll leave me."

"Yer plumb nuts, Elvin? Henrietta leave, ya gotta be jokin'? "

"I can do it, Arlin, I can."

"Fine, then jus go do it. If ya can pull it off then why'iz ya wantin' ah
invite back? Jus git home en tell the woman you'iz gon stay."

"I can do that, shor. Ya know, Arlin, ya got something there. I reckon
that's jus what I'll do, thanks."

"What bout Leroy, Elvin?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, ain't ya gon have trouble when Henrietta says ya cain't come home?
Leroy's jus'tis bad as his brothers when it comes ta mindin' iz mother.
Henrietta will tell im ta toss ya out en Leroy'll do it."

"Leroy'll hafta git a might big larger ta toss Elvin Hobbs out on mah ear,
Arlin. I can whip that boy. Thanks fah lettin' me bunk, Arlin. I'm gon go
see the wife en git this thing rollin."

"Good luck, Elvin. I reckon you'll need it."

Elvin walked through the woods up to the crest of the hill. He looked over
at Lindsay's place. Elvin planned to visit Lindsay again. He planned to move
back home and make Henrietta's life miserable and at the same time get his
pleasure from Lindsay Potter. She invited him to come by anytime and Elvin
planned to take her up on it.

He started down the back pasture for home, but Elvin stopped behind the
apple tree. He spotted Leroy peeking into Lindsay's window. He didn't like
the idea of that boy snooping around his girls place, but it was obvious
Leroy wouldn't listen or heed his daddy's warning to stay away.

Elvin watched his boy and when Leroy went around back to Lindsay's bedroom
window, Elvin made his move. He ran across the field toward home and when he
got to the house he rushed inside. Henrietta was sitting at the kitchen
table looking for lawyers in the yellow pages.

"Elvin, did Arlin give ya my message?" she asked.

"What message?" he asked, playing dumb.

"I told him ta have ya call, but it's just as well yer here. Chester and
Raymond is in big trouble, Elvin. They's done gone en got themselves locked
up. It's serious this time, Elvin. Them boys done a bad thing."

"I know bout what they done, Henrietta." Elvin said.

"Harless call ya?" she asked.

"No."

"Bubba?"

"No."

"Well, who told ya then?"

"I seen what they done, Henrietta. I'z the one found Millie Simpson's body."

"You?" Henrietta said, with surprise. "When? How?" she wanted to know.

"The day ya tossed me out I seen er. I'uz goin' ta Arlin's place through
Poplar Gap en there she lay. She's all naked when I found er. She's dead
too."

"How'd ya know it'uz Chet and Raymond?"

"I din't, not then anyhow. I come back by the place fer some things en I
heard them boys talkin' bout how they's gon git Rosie Freeland so's I
telephoned Harless en told him bout it."

Henrietta was stunned. For a minute, she couldn't speak, but as her voice
finally began, she screamed at Elvin.

"You done called the sheriff on yer own kin?" she shouted.

"I did, yeah, en I'd do it agin too. Harless caught them boys red handed out
back the church. They's fixin' ta rape Rosie Freeland jus like they done
Millie Simpson."

"I cain't believe ya ta turn yer own flesh in that a way. How could ya?"

"Henrietta? Them boys raped en murdered a girl."

"They's yer boys!"

"They's done raped en murdered a innocent woman. I ain't coverin' up what
they done jus cause they's kin, Henrietta. It ain't right, no way."

Henrietta put her face in her hands and wept. She was sick about the whole
thing. She knew Elvin was right. Her boys had crossed the line and it
wouldn't be right to cover it up just because they were her sons. She didn't
want to think of her boys as rapist's or murderer's. Henrietta didn't want
to feel as though she'd failed as a mother.

"How'm I gon face the folk in Olson now?" she sobbed. "I cain't do it,
Elvin, I jus cain't."

"Yain't got no choice, Henrietta. What's done's done."

"I cain't, Elvin. I ain't never gon be able ta hold my head up in this
town's long's I live. Chet and

Ray's gon en mint it fer me, fer you too, Elvin. How ya gon hold yer head up
now?" she asked.

"Same as always, Henrietta." Elvin said, with a hateful tone. She and the
boys had caused him humliation and embarrassment for yeasrs. This situation
was just the finale to a lifetime of degradation and Elvin didn't feel the
impact the way Henrietta did. She was mortified.

"Ain't ya feelin' responsible?" she asked.

"Responsible? Who, me?"

"Yer their daddy." she said. "No I ain't, Henrietta. Jake's their daddy,
remember?"

"He ain't neither, Elvin. I'uz jus sayin' that ta git ya riled."

"No, hey, et suits me fine, Henrietta. I never liked them boys ta begin
with. They's all a bunch a scum's, even Leroy. He's up the holler right now
snooping into Lindsay Potter's bedroom window. Leroy's gon be jus like Chet
en Ray. He ain't a lick better en em boys. I reckon bein' Jake's boys they's
gon act that way though. I know they ain't no way my boys Id act such a way.
Them's Jake's all right, yers en Jake's."

Henrietta didn't respond. She knew Elvin wouldn't stand for it. He knew she
had told the truth. Jake did get her pregnant and there was no undoing it
now. Henrietta felt lower than a snakes belly. She cheated on Elvin, let her
boys down, let herself down. She felt like trash and Henrietta wasn't going
to live with that feeling.

"I made yer life hell, din't I, Elvin?" she asked.

"It ain't been no picnic, Henrietta. Not fer a minute. Ya demanded a house,
I give ya one. Ya demanded I work ta git ya nice things en I done that too.
Yeah, I reckon ya have made mah life hell, but it don't matter none now,
it's done."

Henrietta got up from her chair and walked to the living room gun cabinet.
She reached in and took out Elvin's small pistol and started loading it.
Elvin came in and saw what she was doing, but before he could take a step to
stop her, Henrietta had it loaded and held it to her head.

"Don't, Elvin, jus don't move."

"Henrietta, cmon now. Ain't no good gon come iffin ya do this."

"I am as sorry as I can be, Elvin. I done made yer life hell en I ruint them
boys life too. They ain't a reason in the world fer me ta go on livin'. "

"I can think ah two reasons right off, Henrietta."

"What, Elvin. Ya give me two good reasons en I won't pull this trigger."

Elvin thought for a second before answering, but he blurted them out just
the same. If she did it, fine, he'd live with it, and if she didn't, fine,
he'd stick with plan A.

"Fer one, ya'd make one helluva mess in this livin' room, which would be jus
another way a makin' my life hell, cause I'd be the one'id hafta clean it
up, and two, what them boys done they done, not you. Chet en Ray ain't kids
no more, Henrietta. They's grow'd men. They's old nough ta know better en if
they done that terrible thing then they's gon pay."

"But, I cain't face the town folk, Elvin. Not afta what they done."

"Fuck em, Henrietta." Elvin shouted. "Fuck em all."

"Elvin!" Henrietta said, with surprise. She had never heard Elvin use foul
language. She was shocked.

"What?" he shouted.

"Yer language, Elvin, I cain't believe ya done said what ya said."

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, Henrietta, big fuckin' deal! I swear some, I always did."

"How come me ta never notice before?"

"I dunno." Elvin said.

"Cause I ain't never noticed one dern thing bout ya, Elvin, that's why." she
said, holding the gun to her temple feeling guilty for making Elvin's life a
living hell.

"Henrietta, please, don't be doin'this. If ya hafta, go outside inna yard.
Them ambulance men ain't gon scrape yer brains off the floor, darlin',
they's gon make me do it en I jus ain't up ta the job jus yet."

"Fine, I'll go outside, but ya bess stay, Elvin. Ya ain't gon wanna see it."

"Yeah, right, like I'm gon let my wife blow out er brains, git real,
Henrietta, ya cain't do this, ya hear, now jus give me that pistol en let's
fergit bout all this."

Elvin started toward his wife, but Henrieeta warned him to stay put or she'd
shoot. Elvin smiled at the woman then took another step thinking she was
bluffing, but when his right foot lifted for the second step, she pulled the
trigger splattering her brains all over the living room wall.

* * *

Sheriff Hancock brought Elvin a glass of water. The rescue workers removed
her body and Elvin quivered seeing the remains of his wife smeared on the
living room floor.

"Why don't ya come down ta the station with me, Elvin." Harless said. "Ain't
no reason fer ya ta stay here now."

"I cain't, Harless, I need ta stay. This here's mah home."

"At least let me take over ta Arlin's place then."

"No, I ain't leavin'. Sheriff, ya gotta do somethin' fer me. Ya gotta git up
ta Lindsay Potter's place en pick up Leroy."

"I din't know Leroy was seein' her." Harless said with suprise.

"He's seein' way too much I'd say. Leroy's been peepin in Lindsay's window.
She don't know it though. She's bein' spied on en she don't know it."

"How'd ya know this, Elvin?"

"I seen him twice now. I'uz comin' ta the house ta call ya bout it when,
Henrietta.. . "

"Bubba, git up ta the Potter place en git Leroy Hobbs. He's up thar peepin',
Elvin says. Pick tm up."

"Thanks, sheriff."

"Ya shor ya wanna do this, Elvin, what with the boys momma being dead en
all? If we git him he'll be in jail over the funeral."

"He's breakin' the law, Harless. Git him behind bars whar he belong. I ain't
coverin' up fer Henrietta and Jakes boys no more."

"Elvin?" Sheriff Hancock questioned. What did Elvin mean by that, the
sheriff wondered? If Elvin was saying Jake was the father of his boys that
might change the picture in Harless's eyes. It could be considered motive
for murder.

"What'd ya mean b'that?"

"Jake's their daddy, Harless. Henrietta told me."

"When, jus now, jus before she shot erself?"

"Naw, last week when she tossed me out the house, Harless. She told me then.
I ain't surprised none though. I always did spect Jake en Henrietta's seein'
one hother, hell, I din't care, Harless. Ya know how she was, hell, it'uz a
blessin' ta git her out my hair."

Harless reasoned it so. Elvin had a good point. If Jake could keep Henrietta
out of his hair he'd have kept quiet about it too. Sheriff Hancock dismissed
the notion Elvin would murder his wife. He reassured Elvin that Bubba would
pick up Leroy and he also reassured Elvin someone from the coroner's office
would be down to clear away the mess.

"Crhon, Elvin, let me git ya ta Arlin's fer awhile 'til they git this place
cleaned up. Yain't needin' ta be here jus now."

Elvin didn't argue with Harless. He went along. When he got to Arlin's
place, his brother came out to meet him. Arlin wasn't happy seeing the
sheriff car in front of his house, but he figured no one would see if he
dropped Elvin off then drove away quickly.

"Elvin?" Arlin said. "What is it?" seeing, Elvin's sad face as he stepped
from Hancock's car. "Henrietta." Elvin said. "She'd dead."

"Dead?"

"Stone dead, Arlin." Elvin said, waiting for Sheriff Hancock ta drive away.
Once the sheriff was outta sight, Elvin's expression changed. He put a smile
on his face and threw his arm around Arlin's shoulder.

"She done blowed out her brains, Arlin. Henrietta's gone fer good."

Bubba knocked at Lindsay Potter's door. He had Leroy in cuffs and asked if
she recognized the boy.

"He's Leroy Hobbs, isn't he?" she asked.

"Yes, ma'am, ya know im then?"

"Well, not really. I caught him peeking through my window last week, but he
told me he wouldn't do it anymore." she said firmly, looking at Leroy.

"Well, ma'am, I caught im out back jus now doin' it agin. I'm gon take im
in. I reckon Leroy won't be botherin' ya no more, Miss Potter." Bubba
started off the porch with Leroy, but Lindsay stopped him.

"Wait." she called, stepping outside and closing the door. "What will happen
to Leroy?"

"He's gon be booked, ma'am. He's gon spend some time in jail 'til his
trial."

"What about bail?" Lindsay asked.

"I reckon he won't be able ta make it, ma'am."

"Why not?"

"Well, his two brother's is in, en his daddy ain't gon pay ta have im freed
cause it'uz on his tip we done caught Leroy in the first place, en, well,
his momma.. . " Bubba stopped. He remembered Leroy didn't know about his
mother yet.

"He's gon stay in 'til trial, ma'am."

Lindsay looked at Leroy. His boyish face and pretty eyes pierced to her
heart and she told the officer she wouldn't press charges.

"Ma'am, ya don't hafta do that." Bubba said.

"I know I don't, but if I don't press charges you can let him go now, can't
you?"

"Well, no ma'am, I cain't. He's gon hafta be booked jus the same then we can
let im go, but I seen him peekin' in yer bedroom window en that's agin the
law."

"He had permission." Lindsay spouted.

"Ma'am?"

"I told Leroy to look in my window anytime he wanted."

"I thought ya jus said ya told him never ta do it agin?"

"No, no, I told him never to feel like he wasn't welcome, officer. Leroy
Hobbs and me are lovers if you must know, and I enjoy it when he peeks at me
through the window. It's strange maybe, but this is my home and my land. I
can have anyone I like looking in my window, can't I?"

"Well, I reckon so, ma'am, but I ain't gon let Leroy go less'n ya sign the
release."

"Fine, get it, I'll sign." Lindsay said.

Leroy couldn't believe it. His dream girl was covering for him, keeping him
out of jail. Leroy didn't know why she was doing it, but he didn't care. She
must like me, he thought. Leroy felt good.

Bubba brought the release form to Lindsay and she signed. The deputy shook
his head then smiled at her.

"This shor's a nice thing yer doin' fer Leroy, ma'am, but I hope ya know
what it is yer doin'? I ain't gon bable ta do a thing bout him peepin' in
yer window from now on. Not this time, not never. Ya done give the boy
written permission en they ain't no way I can haul him in now."

"That's fine, officer. I understand what a release means. Thanks for your
help." Lindsay said. She turned to Leroy and asked if he'd like to come
inside for tea, but deputy Bubba remembered about Leroy's mother and
interrupted.

"Leroy, yer daddy's over ta Arlin's place. Ya might wanna git over thar en
have a talk with im. They's been a accident en yer daddy's gon want ta tell
ya bout it."

"Accident?" Leroy asked.

"Yeah, I'll drive ya if ya like."

"What sort ah accident?"

"I'd rather not say, but I think ya bess go see yer daddy."

"Is Chet en Raymond hurt?"

"No, they's fine down't the jail house, Leroy. Cmon, let me drive ya over ta
Arlin's. Elvin can tell ya all bout what happened."

"Is daddy hurt?"

"No, it'z ya momma, Leroy. Cmon, let yer daddy tell ya."

"Is momma sick?" Leroy asked.

"I'd rather ya daddy told ya, Leroy. It ain't my place. He's over ta Arlin's
right now. Let me drive ya over en he can tell ya."

Leroy looked at Lindsay then back at Bubba. This was the chance of a
lifetime for the boy and he wasn't about to blow it just because some silly
accident hurt his mother. Leroy didn't think much of Henrietta in the first
place.

"I ain't gon go, Bubba, so's ya may's well spill it. What's happened ta
momma?"

Bubba shook his head from side to side. He didn't want to be the one, but
Leroy demanded he tell. Bubba saw his telling the boy as the only way to get
Leroy to come along, so he took a deep breath and spilled the beans.

"Yer momma's dead, Leroy. She took her life a while ago."

"Dead?" Leroy repeated, with surprise.

Lindsay gasped at the news. She was shocked. Elvin had told her all about
his wife, what a bitch she was, what a nag, but she never expected this. She
urged Leroy to go along and see his father, but the boy didn't want to
leave. His chance to be with Lindsay was all he wanted.

"How'd it happen, Bubba?"

"Please, let yer daddy do this, Leroy. It ain't my place."

"How, Bubba?" Leroy snapped.

"She shot erself in the head, Leroy. Yer momma shot erself en she's dead!"
Bubba yelled. "Now cmon en I'll drive ya ta Arlin's place."

"You go on, Bubba. I'll git over later."

"Leroy?" Lindsay questioned. "You have to go. Your mother shot herself.
Think of your father, Leroy. He's all alone at Arlin's place. Maybe he needs
you to comfort him." she said.

"Later, okay?" Leroy smiled at the woman. "After tea. You go on Bubba, en
thanks fer tellin' me. I'll git over ta Arlin's in bout an hour or so."

"Ya shor, Leroy?" Bubba asked.

Leroy took another look at Lindsay Potter. Her short shorts were truly that
and her fleshy thighs looked like the color of melted butter. He wanted to
get his hands on them and he figured this would be his only chance.

"I'm shor, Bubba, go on."

Nine

"What the hell's got inta ya, Elvin? How can ya set that smilin' when a
thing like is uz took place?" Arlin asked.

"She done it big uz shit, Arlin, I sware, I never figured she'd pull et
trigger, but she done it. She done it bigger en shit."

"I shor em surprised et ya, Elvin. I never sheeted ya ta be this a way."

"En what way's that, Arlin, honest? Ya said it yaself jus en hour ago. The
woman's no good, Arlin. She's done made mah life pure hell, ain't them yer
very words?"

"But, Elvin, Henrietta's done gon en shot erself, ain't ya sorry bout it?"

"Et's the trouble with yew, Arlin. Yer a dern hypocrit! Jus cause
Henrietta's gon en kilt erselfs ain't gon change the facts, is it? She's a
bitch still. She's a nag. The woman's no good, ya said it yaself, hell,
Arlin, Henrietta's gon. She's out mah life, cain't ya see the good in that?
So she shot erself, so what, et jus makes er a crazy bitch, hell, I ain't
gon lose narry a wink ov'r is. I'z a free man, Arlin. I'uz a free man."

Arlin sat down on the sofa and shook his head. Elvin spoke the truth, but
somehow Arlin figured he should be less elated over it. It didn't seem right
for Elvin to be this happy.

"I reckon yer right, Elvin, but I sware, it jus ain't fittin' ta smile not
one hour afta ya wife done blowd out her brain's."

"Cmon, Arlin, sparr me the brotherly love crap, ya hated the woman the day
we's got married."

"I did, yes, I did, but I never spected Henrietta ta kill erself this a way.
It's jus hard ta take's all."

"Not fer me, it ain't, hell, I coon't be happier. Chet en Raymond's gon go
ta prison, Henrietta's gon go ta hell, en Bubba's over ta Lindsay's right
dis minute pickin' Leroy up fer peepin'. They's gon cart his ass off too,
leavin' me alone with er."

"lone with who, Elvin?"

"Lindsay Potter, et's who, lord, that woman's the salt ah mah soul, Arlin.
She's the prettiest woman I ever seen, en she shor knows how ta make a man
feel good."

"Hold up, elvin, what's ya sayin' here? Ya been keepin' comp'ny with a
woman?"

"Naw, jus once's all. I caught Leroy peepin' through er window en I met er
that a way. She fixed me a cup ah coffee sah hot mah lips's still burnin',
hell, she's the bess dern thing's ever happened ta me, Arlin. I reckon I
love et woman."

"Well, it might explain why ya ain't no more upset bout what happened ta
poor, Henrietta."

"Now she's poor Henrietta? Crhon, Arlin, ya cain't be fer real?"

"What? Jus cuz ya ain't got a carin' bone in yer body ain't no cause fer me
ta give up mine."

"Carin'? Carin'? What the hell ya mean, carin'? I done cared fer that bitch
fer twenty five fuckin' year en better, how the hell can ya say I ain't got
a carin' bone'n my body? Of all people, Arlin, I spected ya ta understand
how I feel. The woman'uz hell bent on doin' erself in and they's nothin' a
person can do if someone git's that a way, hell, don't spect me ta give a
hoot now, Arlin. I'uz finally free uv it. Don't be rainin' on my fuckin'
parade, ya hear!"

Arlin didn't answer. Elvin did have a point and he did understand how his
brother felt. Elvin's life had been misery. If Henrietta wasn't nagging him
half to death, the boys worried did. Arlin nodded to his brother then
slapped a hand to his knee and said he understood.

"Ya gon be stayin' fer awhile, then?" Arlin asked.

"I reckon bout a week. Once they git the place cleaned up I'm gon move home
'til the house sells then I'm gon see bout movin' in up to Lindsay's."

"Lindsay's?" Arlin asked with surprise.

"I'm gon ask, shor. I think she feels the same bout me en I know I love er.
I reckon she might let me move in with er."

"Don't ya reckon ya should wait some afore ya run off inta hother woman's
bed?"

"hother woman's bed? Are ya jokin', Arlin. What other woman? Henrietta quit
givin' afta Leroy come, hell, the first time in twenty year I had me a woman
was when Lindsay give it ta me the other night. I ain't climbin' inta hother
woman's bed, Arlin, jus inta a woman's bed."

Arlin had no idea Henrietta had cut Elvin off. She was always interested in
sex around Arlin. Henrietta offered herself to him a number of times and he
figured she was getting it from Elvin regularly too.

"I reckon I'm gon go see Lindsay fer a little bit. I wanna tell er the
news." Elvin said.

"But, what bout Leroy, Elvin. Shoon't ya git on down the jail first en tell
em boys bout their momma?"

"Later, Arlin. I'm itchin' ta see mah girl."

Elvin left the house and started for the crest. He felt great knowing he was
finally free of the boys and Henrietta, but as he got to Lindsay's place
something felt terribly wrong.

Elvin came up to her kitchen window and peeked inside. He wanted a look at
his girl first, before knocking at the door, but what he saw was Lindsay and
Leroy. doing it on the kitchen table.

Lindsay was lying across the wooden table, her legs wide, her feet up over
Leroy's back, and Leroy was buck ass naked from the waist down, humping his
long thin meat into Lindsay's pussy.

Elvin felt sick. He figured Leroy broke in and was raping his woman. He was
enraged by the sight of Jake's scummy son taking what belonged to him. Elvin
rushed for the front door and threw it open. He dashed toward the kitchen
and when he got to it, he heard Lindsay's voice.

"Yes, Leroy, fuck me, honey, fuck me good, baby, oooh, you are the best,
Leroy, the very best I've ever had."

Elvin stopped in his tracks. Lindsay was saying the very same things to
Leroy as she said when he made it with her and Elvin was confused. He
listened again making sure he heard right, but Lindsay said more of the
same.

"That's right, Leroy, pump it hard, ooh! Ooh, yes, baby, fuck that cunt."

"Lindsay?" Elvin said, not able to stand another minute. He came into the
kitchen and when Leroy saw his daddy standing there, he froze.

"Elvin, what are you doing here?" Lindsay asked.

"What's goin' on, Lindsay, what are ya doin'? "

"Go on, Leroy, you go in the other room and let me talk with your father for
a minute." Lindsay hopped down from the table and Leroy left the room. He
walked right past Elvin without a problem.

"Lindsay, that's my son?" Elvin questioned.

"Sit down, Elvin." Lindsay said with a grin. She took a seat at the table
then waited for Elvin to do the same.

"Elvin, the police came by earlier and were getting ready to throw Leroy in
jail for peeking in my window. The officer told me he wouldn't be able to
make bail and I didn't want to see that happen. Leroy is a good boy, he just
needed a friend."

"Lindsay, you's fuckin' mah boy, why? I thought me en you's had somethin'
special?"

"We do, Elvin, we do. Nothing can take your place, you know that. It's just
that, well, Leroy is just a young boy. He didn't mean anything by peeking.
He just wanted to have sex with me. Did you know Leroy's been in love with
me for more than a year now?" Lindsay said smiling.

"But, Lindsay, ya fucked mah boy. How could ya do a thing like that?"

"Oh, Elvin, I've fucked every man in Olson County at least once for heaven's
sake, what's the big deal. It isn't like there's anything wrong with it.
Just sex, Elvin, nothing more."

Elvin was stunned. He thought Lindsay was a nice girl, the sort of girl he
wanted to many. He never expected her to carry on this way and it broke his
heart.

"I cain't understand it, Lindsay, I jus cain't. I thought ya needed hep the
night Samuel attacked ya. Hell, I had no idea he's jus a rowdy John."

"John?" Lindsay questioned.

"Yeah, a customer." Elvin said.

"Samuel wasn't a customer, Elvin." Lindsay snapped. She didn't like the
implication he was making and she told him so.

"I am not a hooker, if that's what you mean, Elvin. Samuel and I saw each
other regularly that's true, but I never once charged him for making love
with me."

"Ya give it away?" Elvin asked.

"I don't give anything away, Elvin, I take!"

"Was ya takin' from me?" he asked.

"Yes, I took from you. I took a pathetic old man and gave him happiness for
the first time in his life, what's so wrong in that? You needed me, Elvin, I
could see that. You needed a woman."

"And, Leroy, does he need ya too?"

"I think so, yes. Leroy was a virgin until a minute ago, for heavens sake,
Elvin, the boy is nearly twenty."

"He's yer age, Lindsay. He ain't as young as ya think."

"Well, so, he was a virgin and it isn't right for a boy his age to be a
virgin. I know about Henrietta, by the way." Lindsay added softly. "I'm
really sorry you saw her do it."

"Yeah, well it wan't nothin'. "

"You're free of her now, Elvin."

"Yeah, free."

"What's the matter? Things aren't as bleak as all that, Elvin."

"Lindsay, I'uz hopin' you en me could move in tgether. I'uz hopin' ya might
be mah girl from now on, but I can see ya ain't wantin' that. I reckon I'uz
a fool ta think ya did."

"You're not a fool, Elvin. You're wonderful. Sure, I'll be your girl. You
can move in with me tonight if you'd like. I know what. How about the both
of you moving in. Now that Henrietta's gone, Leroy will be needing a mother
figure around and I'm sure it would work out well for all of us." she said.

"The three of us sharin' yer place?" Elvin asked.

"Why not?"

"Lindsay, what sorta mother figya can ya be ta Leroy if ya done fucked the
boy already? It ain't right."

"Give it a try, Elvin, it'll work out. Leroy's a good boy."

"How much ya know bout, Leroy, Lindsay."

"Well, not a whole lot, but he seems nice."

"He's scum." Elvin said. "Elvin, he's your son."

"No, he ain't, he's Jake Sterlin's boy, my step brothers boy. Henrietta done
slept with Jake fer all them boys. He's no more mine then you is."

"Jake Sterling is your step brother?" Lindsay asked with surprise and when
she did, Elvin felt sick to his stomach.

"Not Jake, Lindsay?" he asked.

She nodded yes.

"Damit all ta hell!" Elvin slapped his fist to the table. "That bastard's
gon en fucked the only two women in mah life I ever cared bout. I cain't
stay here this a way, Lindsay. This ain't gon work out. Let Leroy move in if
ya want, but I cain't share a woman this a way, hell, I never figyad ta miss
Henrietta, but I reckon I will now. Somethin's bettr'n nothin' en now I
ain't got nothin'. " Elvin said. He walked out slamming the front door and
when he did Leroy followed.

"Daddy! Wait up, daddy." he called.

"I ain't yer daddy, boy. Yer the bastard son ah Jake Sterlin'. "

"Daddy, please hold up a minute."

Elvin did. He stopped abruptly and swung around facing the boy. The anger in
his eyes was something Leroy had never seen before, but the boy didn't let
it keep him from speaking his mind.

"Daddy, please, listen ta me. They's somethin' ya gotta hear."

"What, Leroy, jus spit it out en leave me be."

"It's bout, Lindsay. I gotta tell ya bout, Lindsay."

Elvin didn't want to listen to a long story about how Lindsay Potter was
Leroy's true love and how her womanhood had made him into a real man. Elvin
didn't give a damn how Leroy felt about anything, not after he stole her
away. Not after he'd gotten into her place and experienced the same pussy
Elvin dreamed about.

"Leroy, they's nothin' ya can say ta make ammends. Jus git on back ta the
woman en have yaself a good rip roarin' time."

"But, daddy, I don't wanna do it."

"Ya coulda fooled me, Leroy."

"Daddy, please, hear me out." Leroy begged. He seemed sincere and Elvin
decided to give a listen. Maybe Leroy was different after all, he thought.
Maybe Leroy wasn't at all like his brothers and if that were the case, Elvin
wanted to give him another chance to prove himself.

"Go on then, I'm listenin'. "

"I been peepin' at Lindsay Potter near a year now, daddy. Every Friday
evenin' I'd come up here en watch her with that man, Sam. I seen her take a
bath, daddy, I watch her puttin' that lotion all over her legs en I jus
cain't tell ya how good it makes me feel."

"What's yer point, Leroy?" Elvin snapped. He was disappointed by his sons
words. Elvin dreaded hearing how much the boy liked fucking Lindsay, but he
promised to listen and listen he would.

"She let me have a little cuz I'uz a virgin, daddy, but I ain't excited that
way."

"What way, boy?" Elvin asked with curiosity. He wasn't sure what the boy was
trying to tell him.

"Ya know, doin' it. It ain't near as good as peepin'. " Leroy said. Elvin
couldn't believe his ears. He'd done both himself and peeking at her
couldn't hold a candle to humping her and Elvin became amused.

"Ya like peepin' bettr'n fuckin', boy."

"Ya, I do."

"What the hell's the matter with ya, boy?" Elvin laughed. He couldn't
imagine such a thing. Most men loved spying but they quickly got past that
stage once they tasted the goods up close.

"I ain't got nothin' wrong with me, daddy, I jus like peepin' better. Fer
the past year I ain't thought bout nothin' but fuckin' Lindsay Potter, but
now that I done it, well, everythin's mint. It ain't gon be the same peepin'
at er now. I already know what she's like en it ain't the same no more."

"Boy, have ya lost yer mind?" Elvin laughed.

"Please don't say that, daddy. Ya make it sound like they's somethin' screwy
bout the way I am en they ain't I tell ya, they ain't. I jus don't wanna
fuck a woman's all, I wanna peep at her."

"Are ya sayin' ya ain't gon move in with Lindsay en be er lover?"

"Well, I'd rather not do it." Leroy said.

"What do ya want then?" Elvin asked.

"I ain't shor yet, but I know it ain't ta move in. I'd rather peep in
Lindsay's window, daddy."

"Ya like watchin' people fuckin' do ya, boy?"

"I do, yes sir. I like watchin' a whole lot more'n I like doin'. "

"Lindsay know this?"

"No, I ain't told er yet."

"But, ya gonna tell er, right?"

"I plan ta."

"Cmon, boy, I wanna hear this. I wanna hear ya tell that beautiful lady ya'd
rather watch fuckin' then do fuckin'. " Elvin was elated. There was hope in
his soul. Hope he'd have Lindsay Potter to himself after all.

They knocked at her door and Lindsay opened it. She looked happy to see them
but confused why they had come back. She didn't think Elvin would go for her
idea and was surprised.

"Have you changed your mind?" Lindsay asked.

"Go on, boy, tell er." Elvin said with a grin.

"Miss Lindsay, I, well, I.. . " Leroy stammered. "What is it, Leroy?"

"He ain't wantin' ta fuck ya no more, Lindsay. Leroy says he likes peepin'
bettr'n fuckin'. " Elvin offered with a beaming smile.

"Leroy, is that true?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Well." Lindsay said with surprise. "Do you like watching me bathe or is it
the sex part with another man you like?" she asked.

"Both, ma'am."

"Well then, come on inside, Elvin. Let's give this boy something to watch.
You go out to the kitchen window Leroy and your daddy and me will give you
plenty to watch."

"Lindsay?" Elvin shouted. "I cain't let mah boy seein' me fuck no woman."

"Why not?"

"I cain't, that's why, hell, I didn't think Leroy meant me."

"I din't daddy, but it won't make no never mind ta me."

"I cain't, Lindsay."

"It's either you or some other man, Elvin. May as well be you, that way
you're getting what you want and so is Leroy."

"I dunno, Lindsay?" Elvin said. He felt embarrassed by the prospect yet
somewhat intrigued too. Making it knowing another man watched seemed like an
exciting thing, but Leroy? Elvin wasn't sure he'd be able to relax knowing
his boy was the man doing the watching.

"I'll tell you what, Elvin, we'll try it and if you don't like it or if
you're not comfortable with the idea, we'll forget it. Leroy can always
watch as me and another man are making it together and.. . "

"I ain't none too pleased with et neither, Lindsay!" Elvin spoke up. "I'uz
hopin' me en you's Id be the onliest ones makin' it. Nother man ain't what I
want."

"Well, Elvin, you'll have to make up your mind because if it isn't you it
will have to be another man. Leroy should have a chance to get what he wants
out of the deal as well so how can he if you are too afraid to try it?"

"I ain't afraid!" Elvin snapped, his ego bruised. "I jus ain't shor I can do
it with Leroy a watchin's all."

"Try it, Elvin." Lindsay smiled.

Elvin shifted his feet from side to side trying to get up enough courage to
take her up on the offer, but he couldn't seem to rid himself of the
embarrassment of it all. He wanted to make love with Lindsay again, but with
Leroy watching it wasn't the same. He knew he had to make a decision before
she changed her mind and brought in a stranger. Elvin shrugged his
shoulders. He felt silly, but he agreed to give it a try.

"Great!" Lindsay smiled. "When."

"I dunno."

"How's bout now, daddy?" Leroy said.

"What, right this minute?" Elvin asked.

"Shor, why not. Ain't no time like a present." Leroy smiled.

"Sure, Elvin, let's go inside and give it a try. If you just don't think
about it you won't even know Leroy is there. He'll be off peeping alone and
won't make a sound, will you, Leroy?"

"No ma'am, not so much as a whimper. Hell, daddy, I ain't gon make no noise
cause that a way it's more like cheatin', ya know."

"Cheatin'? " Elvin asked.

"Shor. The point ah peepin's ta sneak it. I ain't gon let ya hear narry a
sound."

"All right," Elvin said. "I'll try it this once, but if I says ta git away
from thet keyhole, boy, ya bess git!"

"Come on, Elvin." Lindsay said taking his arm and walking him toward the
house. "There's no reason to get nervous."

Ten

Chester went into C block and looked around. The cell was dirty and the
other men eyed him as though new meat had been put on the dinner table.
Chester wasn't comfortable seeing the look in the other men's eyes, but Ike
wasn't about to let him go back to the other cell block.

"Have a good night, Chester." Ike snickered, locking the door behind him.

Chester looked at Ike then looked at Ike's key ring.

"Never ya mind, Chet, them key's is stayin' right here in mah hand." Ike
grinned devilishly. "Yer jus gon hafta make do, Chester."

Ike left him alone with the other cell mates and Chester could sense the
hostility. He made his way to the back of the cell and found a spot next to
the wall where he would be able to crouch down and keep to himself, but the
men looked him over making him nervous. Chester didn't want what Raymond
got, not from these animals.

"What you in here fer?" one man asked.

"Me?" Chet spoke up.

"No, little boy blue." the man laughed. "Yeah, you!"

"I'uz caught destroyin' church prop'ty." Chester said, hoping they'd drop
the subject.

"Church prop'ty, are ya serious?" the man laughed. "Hey, this pretty boy's
done spoiled church grounds men, wadda ya think ah thet?"

"Whad ya do, scribble devil words on the out houses out back?"

"Yeah, thet's what he don, boys. Pretty boy wrote hateful devil words on the
johnny, poor old pretty boy's gon git some hard time fer thet deed."

"Naw, I ain't don that." Chet said feeling anger. He didn't like the ribbing
the men gave him. Chester figured the best way to avoid their wrath was to
stand up for himself. He got to his feet then looked the man in the face and
told the truth.

"She'uz the preacher's daughter so's I reckoned it'uz destroyin' church
prop'ty." he said as a joke.

The man came up to Chester and stood close. His massive form pressed Chester
against the wall and his awful breath made Chet's eyes squint.

"We ain't in the market fah no damn clown, boy." he said. "Ain't nothin'
funny bout bein' in this place en we ain't gon tol'rate no funny stuff."

"I ain't bein' funny, I'uz jus tellin' ya what took place."

"Destroyin' church prop'ty ain't funny ta you, boy?" the man sneered.

"No sir." Chester said in his defense.

"You say in' yer a horny little fucker, boy?" the man asked.

"No."

"No? Wadda ya mean, no?"

"No, sir?" Chester said thinking that's what the man expected.

There was no way out of it, Chester was going to be raped. The men in C
block were noted for it and no one coming into C ever got out of it. Chester
tried everything he knew to keep the men from attacking him, but it was no
use. They each took a turn violating Chester and when they had finished he
sat crouched in the corner until they were ready to take him again.

Chester never made it back to Raymond's cell, but it was just as well he
didn't. Raymond had his own problems. He too was raped over and over again
by vernon and by the time Chester and Raymond's trial came around the two
men were changed forever.

Ike knew what was happening to both men but he kept it quiet and was careful
not to let Sheriff Hancock find out. Sheriff Hancock didn't like the Hobbs
boys by any means, especially after what they did to Millie and Rosie, but
he'd never stand for them being raped in his jail. Harless was a straight
sheriff, fair, honest and above all, law abiding. He had no idea what went
on in C because Ike and the others kept it from him.

When Chet and Ray's trial finally did come around, they were found guilty
and sentenced to life. Chester begged for the chair to avoid going back to
prison, but the judge refused him.

"No sah." the judge spouted. "Life without parole is the bess medcin fer
what ya don en I aim ta see ya serve the full term, boy." Chester was
devastated. Raymond, on the other hand, was thankful. He'd grown accustomed
to the way Vernon made him feel and spending a lifetime with other men
didn't seem so bad to Raymond.

* * *

Elvin and Lindsay did put on a show for Leroy, but Leroy claimed it wasn't
the same for him anymore. He moved on to the farm house the other side of
Poplar Gap Forest, spying on a young girl named Elsie Spangler. She was a
young girl, full bosom, tight butt, and long hair similar to Lindsay's.

Elvin moved in with Lindsay and they shared all their spare time together.
She convinced Elvin that making it with more than one man was what she
needed and he accepted that. He allowed her three nights every week alone
while he went over to Arlin's place and played cards or watched basketball
on television.

Lindsay worked on her studio in her spare time. She decided to accept
donations from her male friends to further the art project, but she never
told Elvin. He didn't like the idea of her hooking. If she gave it up out of
sexual need that was fine. He couldn't keep up with her sex drive anyway,
but for money, that's where Elvin drew the line.

He sold his house and socked the money away. Elvin made a huge profit, as
he'd paid the place off and owed no other debts. He used the interest to
live on and on occasion Lindsay and Elvin would travel to other places and
take extended vacations, but she never liked being gone longer than a month
at a time. She told Elvin it was due to the studio, but she really needed
her other men.

It had been six months since Elvin's house sold and he was planning a winter
vacation to Canada with Lindsay. She was excited about going, but hoped
they'd stay two weeks instead of the three Elvin originally planned.

"The studio, Elvin. Somebody has to be here to take care of it."

"Darlin', ya ain't havin' that many people ta come. What's a extry week?"

"Elvin, please."

"One more week, et's all I'uz askin' fer."

"Let's stay two in Canada then come back and I'll go away with you for the
next three weekends after that." Lindsay said, hoping to strike a deal.

Elvin thought it over then smiled at the girl.

"Five." he said.

"Okay, five weekends." Lindsay smiled back. "It's settled then, we'uz gon
fly out tomorra."

"So soon?"

"Yep, I reckon we bess git packin'. " Elvin said.

"I've got appointments tonight, Elvin."

"Not tonight, Lindsay, dern, we need ta pack fer the trip. Cain't ya call en
cancel?"

"No, you know I can't. I can pack afterwards. Why don't you go over to
Arlin's and when you get back we'll pack together. It'll be fun."

Elvin agreed, but hesitantly. He wanted to spend the evening with Lindsay
before they left. More and more her appointments got in the way.

"I'm gon git back found nine, zat okay?" he asked.

"Sure, well, no, maybe you should make it closer to ten, Elvin. I'm seeing
Andrew tonight and he's rather hard to deal with."

"He don't hurt ya does he, Lindsay?" Elvin asked with anger. He'd bust the
man's ass that hurt his girl.

"No, nothing like that. Andrew is just different, that's all. He requires
special care. Ten is fine, Elvin, just plan to get back then."

Elvin left for his brothers place. He was agitated, but what choice did he
have? Lindsay set the rules and he was obliged to follow them.

Arlin had the football game on and Elvin grabbed a beer and joined him. He
spent a good deal of time at his brothers place. Arlin knew why too. Arlin
was one of the men Lindsay saw regularly, but he'd never tell Elvin that.
One those nights Arlin told his brother he had a computer class at the
community center and he'd go off leaving his brother alone until nine.

"So, ya'll leavin' inna mornin'? " Arlin asked.

"I reckon."

"Packed yet?"

"Not yet, later this evenin'. "

"Oh, afta, huh."

"Yeah."

"She's one busy lady, Elvin. I reckon she's doin' a good deed fer the men
folk round these parts though."

"Arlin, I ain't wantin' ta hear this now, okay."

"What?" Arlin asked defensively.

"Jus fergit bout all the good Lindsay's doin', okay, I ain't up ta hearin'
it."

"Man, if yer gon live with that girl yer gon hafta git used ta them others,
Elvin. Lindsay Potter ain't the sort ta git by with jus one, especially one
yer age."

"Wass sah terrible bout my age?" Elvin snapped.

"Cmon, Elvin, ya know what I mean."

"No, I don't reckon I do, Arlin. Ya make it sound like I'uz ah old fart. Ya
talk like I'z standin' with one foot inna grave en the other on a banana
peel, hell, they ain't nothin' old bout me, not narry a dern thing."

"They ain't no need ta git riled, Elvin, I'uz jus sayin'. . . "

"I heerd ya, Arlin, I heerd ya jus fine. Yer sayin' a old man like mahself
cain't cut the musterd with a young woman like Lindsay Potter."

"Well?"

"Shit, I can git it up near every night, Arlin, what the hell ya mean?"
Elvin laughed.

"Then how come er ta go with them others?" Arlin asked, coyly.

"I ain't gon talk bout this, Arlin. I ain't inna mood."

"Face it, Elvin, ya cain't keep up. Hey, it ain't no sin, ya know. Men's
git's old. I'uz gittin' old mahself."

"Shit, you been old, Arlin. Ya ain't never had the ability ta do it more en
onct a month." Elvin laughed at his brother. He had no idea how often Arlin
was able to perform sexually, but he felt like giving the man a dig as his
way of getting him riled.

"Shoo, yer off, Elvin, way off. I jus might sprize ya with what is old
body's capable ah doin'. "

"I doubt it, Arlin. Ain't nothin' ya can do ta change mah mind neither.
Hell, I remember when we'uz boys, member them twin girls from cross Big Lick
Creek? Wass their names, Arlin, ya member them girls?"

"They's the Marner twins, ain't they?"

"Et's it, Marner, hell, ya had yer chance ta ball et little dark headed one
the very first time we'uz out, but ya coon't git it up, Arlin. Wass thet
dark headed girls name anyhow?"

"I don't recollect Sarah en you gittin' much done thet evenin' neither,
Elvin."

"Et's right, I member now. Sarah en her sister, Serene, man, they's some hot
pussy they'uz." Elvin laughed.

"How'd you know, Elvin, ya ain't never done it en ya know ya ain't."

"Ta hell I ain't, why I had me a time with Sarah Marner. She'uz the onlyest
girl I e're done side a Henrietta. Henrietta.. . " Elvin said with a fond
memory. "She weren't bad them first times we done it. I ever tell ya bout
the first time me en Henrietta done it, Arlin?"

THE END
